Yesterdays Post was on my adventure with my HOW To Manual for our Kia Sorrento...if you missed it, you might want to read it first. CLICK HERE...
The Warnings in the book are bright yellow and it must also stand for Brain Dead if you go by the 3 below.
Warning! Pay close attention when the vehicle is driven close to objects on the road, particular pedestrians, especially children.
Warning! Your ABS(anti lock system) Brakes are not a substitute for good driving judgment. You can still have an accident. Avoid dangerous driving or driving to close to other vehicles
Warning! the vehicle doors should be fully closed when in motion. Be careful when opening doors, watch for other vehicles, pedestrians, bikes and motor cycles.
First is says DO NOT put your face or arms out side the roof WHEN DRIVING. 2nd it says Make sure face and arms are out of the way BEFORE YOU CLOSE the Sunroof... brahhhahhaha
Do we need an addendum to the Don't drive and text or talk on cell phone law??
What Ever Happened to Common Sense..and this foot note just slays me...
*NOTE: The speed at which you advance up or down the frequency range depends on HOW FAST YOU TURN THE KNOB...

I guess someone sued them because of the lack of warnings and they now need to distance themselves from any obligation. But still it's rather funny. :)
LOL!!!! When I got my Mini, it took me a while to learn how to read the OBC and it's functions so I had to put my "geek" side t work literally!!!!...:)JP
One warning they missed: Close sunroof when meeting a farmer hauling hay, as the back draft will suck the hay inside of the car. Happened to me.... Only in Wisconsin!!
Between you and Muffy, they should have about everything covered.
oh, boy...
But, yeah, can't ignore :)
Oh goodness they do seem to over state the obvious these days don't they!
I get images in my head from reading those warnings... Crazy road-movie/action-movie car chase scenes :)
Darn lawyers... they are invading our world...
You started my day with a good laugh! Keep on reading, I hear there will be a test at the end! LOL
I don't speak Geek either. But I laughed out loud so much that Hubby had to know what I was reading.
Common sense is lost nowadays, just look at our politicians. :) lol
Yikes! If they have to give these warnings then perhaps they should add one about being able to even drive a vehicle.Good old common sense is not very common any more.
I wonder how the people that would need this manual got a drivers license in the first place. Thanks for the humor today : )
it is amazing how many folks will sue over common sense things...now the manuals have to cover everything just to save their butts...which costs us all more money in the long run...
I have been reading this to Phil and we are laughing. The radio thing is beyond belief. Phil says this: these things are in the manual because once a stupid person in a motor home put his cruise control on, then went in the back to make a cup of coffee. Of course the motor home wrecked and he sued, claiming it never said you could not leave the wheel with cruise control on. So the judge said they had to put that in the manual. So each thing you read was the result of one stupid person and a lawsuit. I kid you not.
Hee hee the people that need these warnings probably can't read.
LOL!!!
Oh those are seriously funny but the sad thing is they have to word it that way because of all the idiots walking around out there
I have thought of that myself so many times. You are a hoot.
Well I guess common sense has been replaced by attorneys and insurance companies. Usually these warnings come about because some fool did just that. Can you imagine driving with your face through the sunroof opening? On second thought let's not think about that. LOL!
I had to have Roger come read this...he read the one about keeping your face out of the way and started making a face like he was being choked...then when he read the last one about turning the knob...he said "MY God!".....
As a side note I could not read it to him because I was laughing so hard.
Bah...these warnings are a bit funny though aren't they. But guess they have to be there cus many people does not use their common sense, not even while driving a car lol!
Have a great day
lol!
you're a hoot!
Unfortunately the people who need to read it don't! That is all I am saying.....
Amazing how people have to be told in writing to not be stupid. ;)
Good Grief!!
Unbelievable!!
The dumbing down of the human race!
Oh, Sandra this is still hilarious!!!!
Surely they told you that the vehicle must be stopped before getting out of it. :)
I guess I must read this every year...back here reading the two posts and sitting with tears in my eyes.
Just have to tell you Roger told me years ago one of his saws, he couldn't remember if it was a circular saw or chain saw had a warning of DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STOP BLADE wITH HANDS WHILE STILL RUNNING...and said that was years ago.
I think because of so many ridiculous law suits that are allowed to go through the judicial system and then award $$$$$$$ to people for such stupid claims, we are left with these ridiculous caution statements. We have a navigation system in our car, and if it is running, as in someone is driving it, I have to acknowledge a statement that I am a passenger and not a driver using the keyboard to type in an address. We have three books that explain how to drive the car, and in a lot of cases I have to Google the question to find an answer. I'm waiting for the day the car says, hey, you in the passenger seat, don't fall asleep now there is some good scenery ahead on the left. :-)
