Conspiracy Theory......

While shopping last week, I walked to the spot the eggs have been in for years, and NO Eggs.... I stood and scanned and there they were, moved to the Juice Cooler.... way down at the other end... way....down....on....the....other.....end.

Every thing in the dairy appeared to have played the game of fruit basket turnover. Nothing was in the same place.

I shop from a list... if  when I leave something off the list, when I SEE it, I remember and pick it up. I walk the same path every week, the same way up each aisle, in a pattern, just so I will see what I did not put on the list.

I went home without the cream cheese for hubbies bagels. You would have thought I did it ON PURPOSE... (that may or may not be another post)

Next day I return for the cream cheese... I left with cream cheese, cottage cheese and steel wool for scrubbing pots...and two things that have slipped my mind because that WAS a week ago.

See the Conspiracy Theory here?   THEY move everything around, causing us to forget one item, we return and buy THREE items or even MORE..

and never mind the fact when I put the bagels in I should have realized I did not have it...that would be in the other post about me doing this on purpose....

P.S.... I threw in a little Egg Art from PiZap just BECAUSE

I like your egg-art :) And I hate it when they move things around in my supermarket just when I'm beginning to get used to where to find them... Of course they've also organized it so that you can only enter at one end, while the most necessary items of food are at the other end. So you always have to pass lots of things you don't actually need, in order to get to those that were on your list.

Totally agree with your comments on the stores moving things around, which is why I too shop with a list, Sandra. If something has been moved and it's on the list, then I need to hunt it down. My problem is often that I forget to put something on the list aarrghhhh.

Love the egg art! I hate when they move stuff...I walk myself to death!

Love, love your egg art! Something so simple turned into a real beauty! I know that feeling, leaving the grocery store with missing items, we live way out in the country and often drive 80 miles to grocery shop, a list is a must!

YES> I see it and it works doesn't it. when I looked at the photo of the eggs I thought oh they started being sneaky here also. with 10 eggs to a carton instead of 12. In Brasil they went to 10 eggs a couple years back. same price. carton looks the same - but only 10 eggs.
when are you coming back to FSO?

Love the egg art. In the past year, one of our local supermarkets did a complete do-over, and switched everything around. It's taken me a year to figure out where everything is. I don't like change.

Last fall NC based Harris Teeter stores were bought by Kroger.
Almost immediately set about changing things around. At one point they had pet food on the aisle as
feminine products. Cracked us up. I think they have finished.

Yes---Walmart keeps on moving things around. So does Krogers --since we go to two stores each week.

FINALLY got some eggs on sale at Krogers --but they were still 1.50 for a dozen... GADS!

Did you realize that Walmarts in SMALL areas (like ours) sell things at higher prices than other bigger Walmarts???? Crazy since this is predominantly a rural area --with lots of poor or poorer people... Not fair...

We paid 3.19 for a gallon of 1% milk this week. What do you pay??? I don't drink much milk--but GE makes protein shakes and uses quite a bit.

Grocery prices just keep on going UP UP UP, especially for those of us who try to eat healthy... Shocked that nobody seems to notice --and complain. Maybe it's because you can still get all of the JUNK and non-nutritional-type of food cheaper than what we pay for most of ours... Oh Well.

Cold here this morning. Was MINUS 2 about 6 a.m. Yipes!

Hugs,
Betsy

We've noticed that about the time we learn where everything is in a grocery store, the locations change. It's maddening. I like your egg art.

Sometimes I think I should just go browse the grocery store to see what I'm missing. Trader Joe's recently made a big switch. As for the forgotten cream cheese--I would have handed Bob the car keys!

Yep,they keep us on our toes by rearranging the store.

Thanks for my morning laugh.

Like your artwork! They love to change things around because they want us to notice new things. I don't shop often at the grocery store, we buy nearly everything at Costco who changes things up way too often......

Be sure to do this again at Easter. So cute!

Now I know you know why! What I find odd, is that I just had this conversation with my sister who was so pissed they rearranged her store!!!!...:)JP p.s. Nothing eggs citing about our store...still the same!

I hate it when they move things around. I used to always write my list in order of the store to save time and keep from forgetting things. It always messed me up if they moved stuff.
I like your egg art. That first one that is a close up of the foam carton between the eggs had me stumped for a minute I had to keep looking to figure out what it was

Love all your egg art. Re Betsy's comment about the price of eggs. I would love to find them for 1.50 a dozen, cheapest here are 1.89 but common price is over 2.00.

The rearranging of stores doesn't bother me in the least. Why you ask? Because I used to be one of the people who helped to do such things, it was part of my job. Even worse I have helped design sections of new store layouts. It is all set up to get you to visit more of the store and of course to buy more.

They reconfigured our Wal Mart and Kroger about a year ago...and I still have a hard time finding things! They should not mess with us!! :-)

AHA! My suspicions were correct. It's a conspiracy and all the time I thought I was just getting old and losing my memory. Boy, do I feel better!!

Oh, gosh, I love this...the two other things that have slipped my mind because that was a week ago...so glad I am not the only one.

And re your comment that that spring is on its way---are you sure?

Cheryl @ TFD said...

Yep, just when I get used to things being in a certain place, they have to go and change it. I hate that!!

I have wondered why they move things around in the store and get me all confused, not that it takes much to do that. Thanks for enlightening me on this reason for this practice. I hate when they move things and I can't find them. Cute egg art sweet Sandra. Hugs

You know they do that on purpose at all stores - they move things all the time - to show new products and to keep you on your toes. Seriously. sandie

Would you belive Hubby not only prepares our meals, he also does grocery shopping.

If it is not on the list, it is unlikely to come home with him. A trip to buy the forgotten item usually means a whole grocery cart full, and the forgotten item may NOT be in the cart. Conspiracy!

Dee said...

I think your theory may be right or their could even be a more sinister plot to get more money from us. Pizaz looks like a fun place. I will have to visit it.

:)That is a bit annoying when they change things around, and you walk around like a lost person. At least I do at times when you're use to some products being at the same place. I am like you walk around a shop systematically.

love your arty images! especially that second one.

i second george's comment too.

I LOVE visiting you because I NEVER know what you're going to say!! You make my day!

Even when it's on the list I frequently forget it!
