Little Los Angeles

Bradenton, Florida, last week... and the week before and next week and the next week after that. The price of living in Paradise...

(my grandmother said over and over that one day so many people would move to Florida it would break off from the States)

Bradenton/Sarasota is the 18th fastest growing metro area in the U.S.

and for 6 months of the year, our population doubles

800 people move to Florida every day..
24,000 per month
2.8 million per year

Argh! All that congestion! I dream of days from my childhood in a small town where congestion was nonexistent! (and the air was clean!)

OMD don't talk to us about congestion. Have a terrific Tuesday.
Best wishes Molly

As much as I would love your weather I couldn't stand all that traffic. I like small town living and avoid going to the closest big city as much as possible.
So I will not move to Florida :)

I've been to LA the traffic is horrible all the time...our traffic is bad here I'm just glad I don't have to drive it every day

It is easy for me to say I won't move to Florida! I'd rather winter in New England than to suffer through a Florida summer.

Best,
Bonnie

Ouch that is a lot of traffic! Guess it has its downsides too living in paradise

VERY SCARY THAT IS HAPPENING HERE TOO. THEY SAY RALEIGH IS THE FASTEST GROWING CITY IN THE STATE.

NO WONDER YOU DON'T LIKE TO DRIVE AND GO OUT EARLY!

I have no plans to move back to Florida. :) Florida has also lost a lot of people. You have a lot of people moving into your area, but Florida has also had a lot of people move out.
Raleigh's traffic is crazy and that is one reason that we may not move there.
I've got to catch up on reading blogs!

I would think the population is changing both ways, people moving in and some moving out..Maybe a mass transit would help with the traffic.. You should see the Balto-Wash beltways.. Most days they are at a stand still. Have a happy day!

I will not move to Florida. I will not....

Okie dokie, I'm convinced. The traffic into and out of Toronto is a nightmare so if your area is anything like that I will not move to Florida.

Haha. I promise I won't move to Florida. I wouldn't want it to break off. :-) Glad I don't have to deal with that traffic. I think probably 5 vehicles have gone past our house in the last hour. :-)

I just might move there! lol I do understand what you mean.

Oh my GOSH!!! Now I can actually SEE why you don't like to travel long distances by yourself. It is funny, the other day I asked Bev about the traffic there, and she said it was rather busy, but I had NO idea! I am going to have Phil read this. And I guess they have done all they can? Our traffic here is nothing like this, except at rush hour twice a day. Your grandmother was FUNNY! Is it also like this when you go to the library and WM?

We will never move to Florida.... :-)

My Mom is from Pensacola...my grandparents lived in Sarasota after they retired until the late 70s...

I think it is a lovely place to visit..in the winter...when it isn't so hot.

After living in Austin, TX where the population exploded....and the roads didn't, we don't blame you for wanting to stop the madness!

Eish, that's traffic congestion at its best! Has Florida broken off from the rest of the States? You have lots of people moving to Paradise in a single day, don't you?

This congestion is like going to Niagara Falls or St. Catharins, Ontario, Canada. Great clarity of it all you have taken.

It also is like this going to Pearson Toronto airport.

I am glad I have moved from all the Whooo Ballo.

To country living three traffic lights and I am in town.

I will not move to Florida! Between Spring break and your snowbirds it does get very busy.

I will not move to Florida :) I also very much doubt now that I will ever take up driving again (since I haven't in the last 15 years or more).

It's how I always feel during the Rose Parade on New Year's Day. Our weather is always gorgeous and I KNOW it inspires peeps to move here. NO!! STAY!!
