Avocado Tales.. Up On The Roof...

Hi, we are the Avocado Triplets and we have a tale to tell...
Last week, Momma Snapper heard a limb fall on the roof. When she pointed it out to Daddy Snapper, who did not even hear it fall, he said that means I have to go
Up On The Roof.

photo from 2012 which is last time he was on the roof
Momma Snapper stood on the ground holding her breathe, and not looking. Just waiting to hear if he fell off the roof and 911 was needed.
Suddenly, Daddy Snapper was standing on the EDGE of the roof with 2 avocados that weighed more than 2 pounds each and said 'Catch"
Momman Snapper said "are you kidding me"
Daddy snapper said step back...
Momma Snapper said several times.. Get Off The Edge, it Will Break off.
Daddy Snapper Replied.
If I Don't Stand On the Edge I can't drop them in the....

rain barrel and he proceeded to drop them in the rain barrel, while he was 'standing on the edge' of the roof
This is the harvest from the man on the roof who decided to pick what he could reach while removing the dead limb...(while he was up there he decided to Trim The Tree Branches by Breaking them off with his hands and walking all over the roof and tossing them on the ground From The Edge.)

Six Avocado meant Six yells of "don't stand on the edge"

I have found with my husband that if I say no...don't do that...stop...you'll get hurt...etc....
He will not only do it, he'll be twice as dangerous, just to show me. So now I say- please, go do that dangerous thing...we have insurance, don't we? And you know what? He doesn't do half the scary things he used to. Well, having a quadruple by-pass also shut his adventurous nature down just a tad. :)))

It makes me nervous just to read about your hubby being on the roof. I don't like seeing anyone on a roof without a harness.I'm glad the story ends well.

Good morning, Sandra. My hubby is similar to Terri's above. He just ignores my warnings. I guess it is a "man" thing.

I am glad all went well and there were no calls to 911. Your avacados look great! Enjoy your day!

Albert, Alan and Aaron....your story is sure to win a place of honor in Great Tales from atop the roof....and your photos are most handsome! BUT alas we have finally found out there is no MS'ing going on when Daddy Snapper is up on the roof. Thank you for this most entertaining story...comedy, suspense and surprise!!
Hugs madi and mom

What a harvest!

Typical male, they like to scare us as they show off. Glad the roof didn't break off.

And you don't even eat them!
I told my husband this very morning something - I saw he was frowning - told him to do the opposite then - haha - he ended up doing it my way - the smart way I must say too.

he tests your anxiety all the time, doesn't he?

Many years of marriage helps to, more or mostly less, understand that "man thing".
I guess it's just the way they are built.
2 pound avocados are amazing.
When I look at the puny ones in the store that sell for a dollar a piece I do have a bit of green envy.
Loved your story and the names you chose.

Glad he was ok. I would love to have avocados to pick...but not from the roof. After seeing that first photo I will not look at avocados the same way again. I might even talk to them. :)

I'm pretty sure it's a man thing. Those are some big avocados. I had no idea they had such cute little heart shaped button noses :)

I would have been holding my breath too. Those look great avocados. Can you eat them or do they get tough when they get too big. They would make a lot of guacamole, yum! Can you tell I love avocados? :)

I'm glad he is safe. Medical research says people over 55 lose their sense of balance and shouldn't climb ladders. My hubby was like yours and did these dangerous things until his friend fell off his roof and ended up in a wheel chair for the rest of his life (which wasn't long after)

Glad hubby's harvesting of the avocadoes and sorting out the branch ended safely. It's the sort of thing my hubby has done in the past when maintaining the roof of the Italian house and why I go with him and follow him around just in case he get any ideas to do any more climbing about...not that I'd be much use at saving him from ground level except to call for help if he fell. Take care both of you and I hope you're having a quiet rest of the week.

I don't know why so many men like to do dangerous things! Glad Daddy Snapper didn't fall off the roof!

I'd be nervous too if my hubby were up on the roof. - So glad nothing happened and how cool to have your own fresh avocados!

Don't you sometimes wish they would listen to us.

Why do men think they can continue to go up on the roof no matter their age!
Glad he is safe and those are awesome avocados.

My Granddaughter loves Avocadoes. If she cant get them at a restaurant. She will walk out.

I mean she is addicted to them and think you don't eat them.

I tasted them last year first time . I love them too.

Glad that both Bob and the avocadoes survived the roof experience. Those avocadoes look so much better and larger than the ones seen in the grocery store this week.
