May I Buy A Brain??

Bob leaves home at 7:30 any day it is not raining or to windy. He goes to the park to fly his radio control airplanes. He comes home between 9:15 and 9:45 and never ever never comes home later than that...

Tuesday AM I sat watching my DVR show, The Good Witch and looked up at the big red numbers and it said 10:05.., my mind kicked in gear...
Scenario 1.. heart attack and laying in field Scenario 2..stroke and laying in field Scenario 3.. plane hit him in his head and laying field bleeding out.

By 10:20 I was sick to my stomach and at 10:30 I got up went down the hall to put on clothes and drive over to the park to check on him. I lifted my gown over my head and turned to step in the closet and the big red numbers on the click said 9:30.,.

What? Am I crazy? I walk back in the living room and look at the big red numbers and this is what I see.....

There is a clock on the DVR, that morning the big red numbers were 3 minutes ahead of the DVR clock, our life is lived by the BIG RED numbers NOT the DVR which is to tiny to see. I had reset the minutes correctly and SOME HOW had changed the hour up an hour.

May I buy a brain?? I did not notice it when I did it, I  did not notice it for the 3 hours it was that way, Or for the Half Hour of Misery playing scenarios in my head.... Of course I could blame it on the tiny red numbers.. I mean who can read those???

Phew, I'm glad there was nothing more serious wrong than your eyes looking ahead!

those 3 scenarios sounded rather serious... luckily it was only the wrong time! (can happen to anyone...)

Good morning, I tend to always think the worst. I am so glad it was just the wrong time on the clock. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!

I have good practice with this since, on my old car, I never changed the time when the time changed. At least it was correct half the year. A more important question: What happened to the Good Witch's husband? How did he die?

Best,
Bonnie

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh MS you literally crack me up!!! This is hilarious.
The clock saga here is during the DST switch o roo! Thankfully, our clock with big red numbers has a brain it switches itself. BUT many of the Walmart radios have to be manually changed and I had done that very same thing hit the hour instead of the minute. B saw it said we lived in two time zones
upstairs was central time, downstairs was eastern time

That is a terrible feeling when you think someone has had an accident of some sort....glad you figured it out before leaving home. We often put off changing the clock in the car and many times I forget and think that I am late for an appt.!

Silly clocks! Don't feel bad...I get up at 6:30am with my hubby everyday. There have been times when he has gotten us up early (6am) and I don't realize it until I am showered and ready to start my day...ad it's 6:30...

Whew!!!
Your scenarios sound just like where my mind goes. The other day hubby wasn't picking up either his cell or the house phone ... and I imagined him laying unconscious (or worse!). Turns out, he'd just gone to the store and forgot his cell.

I would have been worried, too. I'm glad it was just the clock being set wrong! Don't worry, I've done things like that too many times to mention, so if you find a brain shop...let me know, okay? :)

so glad it was all a mistake! the way you reacted is exactly how I am over Kyle or Craig.

Goodness, what a scare but I can see me doing this too. Have done this but not for a while thankfully. Glad everything was okay. Funny how we go to the worst case scenarios.

I'm glad it had a good ending. I don't think you need a new brain, just a younger one!!!

See, I need one too. I forgot to mention that I loved the colors of the leaves in the previous post. They are absolutely gorgeous! Since my eyes are so bad, I can't even read what I just wrote, so I hope it is OK.

LOL!! You are a nut! For about a year, the clock on the DR wall read 1:50pm...until I bought a replacement mechanism for it. I looked at it every time I came through the slider, then would see the real time on the stove & microwave! ...:)JP

And if you find that brain shop, Sandra, there would be many folks joining you it seems. I have a wrist watch that keeps perfect time until it's worn, then it always seems to be off. So if I wear it, I make sure to have my phone with me so I will know the correct time if the watch malfunctions!

It looks like the line at the brain shop will be a long one. See you there funny gal. So glad your wild imagination didn't make it out the door and your hubby is just fine. giggling

I don't have an ounce of brain to spare.

I do commiserate with you. I have four to five of these fiascoes a day.

It seems we are all in the same boat...
Why is it , it's always the worst case scenario in my brain?
Too funny but I am glad Bob is ok.

LOL and celebrating that Bob is okay. :))

This sounds like something I would do. At least it was just a wrong clock and not scenario 1 2 or 3

My gut gets in a knot just imagining how you felt...just thank God it was the clock showing the wrong time.

Talk about clocks. While at the Bed and Breakfast we stayed.
Someone before us. Set the clock . And at 3 P.M we were waken up with the radio blaring and hard rock music. We tried to stop the darn thing to off. It would not go off.

Finally I pulled out the cord from the wall socket.

Did I go back to sleep Sid and I. No. I was due next day for my Eye operation. No sleep.

Oh I guess by now you know my operation went well.

I can see colors and I do not need to make my typing large anymore.

I posted on my Imagination blog. Update. You care to look Sandra.

Your blog was a good one as usual.

Oh, who can read ANYTHING anymore! I don't buy things that have small print. If an ingredient list is tiny print, I don't buy the item. Anyway, that's so easy to have happen, and I laughed (at the end) of all the things that had gone through your mind. I'm the same way. All those horrid scenarios playing out in living color in our minds. :-)

I know how you felt. Tom often just pops out for something and is gone for ages, I, like you, get panicky and think all of the worst things. He usually strolls in and the reason for the delay is that he has been chatting to neighbours, he's the worst for that.
As for the new brain, let me know if you find out where to get one, we both need one pronto. ha ha

It is so nice to know I am not the only one who goes into panic mode when the hubs is late or not to be found. Good thing it was just the clock being all wrong..LOL!

big hugs!

That is a scary scenario. Glad it was just a big red number mistake. Next time check your cell phone for the right time, the numbers are fairly big. In fact get Bob to take a cell phone with him then you can ring him if he is late.

Thanks for a good laugh. It happens to all of sooner or later.

I usually get SOME experience like that twice a year in connection with changing between summer/winter time... Seems there is always one clock somewhere that I forget about then. And even if many of the digital thingies we have nowadays are usually good at resetting themselves, one never knows...
