Fence Me IN

Please fence me in to this new home being built on the river. Wide river, old oaks, beautiful home and what will be a lovely fence when completed.

RANT!  Last November, Publix called to tell me they could not find my prescription drug A anywhere and that the doctor had changed me to another drug M. Just a heads up that my 90 days would be different. I ranted and carried on and then after a couple of weeks, I  said to Bob. this is a good thing. I like M so much better than A.

.YAY! something went wrong then was RIGHT!

Last week at the doc, the print out they gave me stated the drugs I take and I verified it was correct. The new drug M was listed, the other one said no longer taking A. YAY! all is well.

This morning I opened the prescriptions I picked up for the next 90 days and NOOOO! the bottle was A not M..... I called Publix and he said he was sorry, that the auto fill still had the old A and that he would change it and I could Pick up M tomorrow after 2... Seems someone did not change the auto fill to the new prescription. He said keep A as a back up because he would just have to toss it out. He would void the prescription in the system in order to add the one I needed.

I said to Bob, I need to check each bottle before I leave the store. Then, I said if I can remember to. Because earlier today, I made a 2nd trip to Walmart because I forgot 3 items, and a 3rd trip because 4 weeks ago I bought the wrong size hearing aid battery. And I had the wrong receipt and will have to go back a 4th time.

If  I can't even shop correctly, how can I keep track of the prescriptions and the pharmacy. We are all people and all make mistakes. At least my mistake will not kill us, but a pharmacy could. Praise be I am not working in a pharmacy, who knows what could happen.

Hello Sandra!:) Yes, that is a lovely house in a nice location. I love white fences! Now, about your memory,...think about all the extra exercise you are getting, by forgetting things! So it's not all bad. Your last bit about you working in a pharmacy cracked me up,:=) but really, I'm amazed that through no fault of your own, you had the wrong prescription yet again, but pleased that in future you will get the M medication that suits you better. I'm taking some natural products to help with my memory, ..but more often than not, I forget to take it!:)

Oh I want to live in that house.
I think I read somewhere that highly intelligent people forget things because they have so much knowledge in their heads they occasionally have to remove things to make room for new stuff they are learning. Or something like that. I can't quite remember. I guess that just means I'm highly intelligent like you

I like that new home with all the tall windows. I bet it has a beautiful view. Glad you got your med straightened out. I have had that experience and it is frightening to think of getting the wrong meds and not realizing it.

you are speaking my script, wummin! When I went shopping for the father recently, there were three things on his list, plus all my own stuff. The main reason for going was for his stuff. I returned with none of his stuff and only half of my stuff... sigh... thank heavens I don't have to take any drugs at all. I'd be a danger to myself, I am certain of it. YAM xx

Hello, it is always good to check your prescriptions well. Mistakes can happen and in your case it did happen. Hubby and I go to the store with a list, that way we do not forget anything and we do not buy extra. The new home looks beautiful, very grand. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!

It pays to check everything, we've had mistakes in the past with Tom's meds. They had down that he was allergic to Warfarin, lol, he's been on it for 20 years, someone made a big mistake, lol

This reminded me of the time I gave Louis Dean a sleeping pill first thing every morning for two weeks! It was a blue and white capsule just like the Ramipril he’d been taking every morning for years! His sleeping pill was yellow. I didn’t realize what I was doing until I got his sleeping pills refilled and when I saw they were blue and white capsules I went back to tell the pharmacist he’d refilled the wrong Rx! Oops!
Bless Louis Dean’s heart!

That is a gorgeous new house but YIKES will it withstand the huffing and puffing of the hurrycanes?

Whoa that was a big mix up at Publix. I suppose the meds are both ok for what you need but dang. I agree though you better keep a close check on what is in your bag. What gets me is my med name doesn't change..however, some months the pill is blue some months it is green?

I love the sunny yellow house! This little round part with all the windows needs a window seat and we can sit there and read in the light!! I will have plans for each of the rooms when you post it finished. This sounds so much like me! I always check what the drug looks like, if it looks the same as always. Once the doctor gave me a new drug. I came home and Googled it. Went straight back. The pharmacist said it could kill me because I was taking another drug that it interacted with. Often doctors will prescribe without looking at what you are already taking. The doctor called me and apologized.

Beautiful house Sandra! I hear you on the prescription issue. I received a text from CVS telling me my blood pressure meds were ready to be picked up and then when I got there, they said that they had not received confirmation from my doctor that it could be refilled. Annoying! I asked them why they sent the text and she just said "sometimes that happens, I'm sorry". Now I will have to make another trip when they are finally ready.

That is a huge house and looks lovely. It pays to be aware of what prescriptions we need and have Pharmacists can and do make mistakes.

Our "digital age" is wonderful and destructive too.
I'm so glad you got better meds and that you caught the mistake.
Keep double checking so that that automatic thing gets cleared up.
These kind of things just make my head spin...I hate having to un-do stuff.
Happy travels back and forth...not....

When you combine the two words, mistake and prescription, it is definitely not a good thing. Glad you caught it, and it's not something that could negatively affect your health. I think all of this would be resolved if those folks building that beautiful house would just let you live there. :-)

What a beautiful house on the river that is going to be when they finish it!

One of my pet peeves is when the pharmacy messes up...mostly because, like you, I don't check them until I get home... :-)

I love that house too!
And boy I know what you mean about Medicine. February 1st - God Willing - I will go on Medicare - which is going to be better than what I had the last few years. You have to watch them like a hulk! Some I have to get from DrugX because it is cheaper than insurance. And I am always at Wally World. sandie

That house is a little larger than I'd like (to CLEAN and COOL, don't-cha know) ... but I'm in love with the pale yellow exterior.

I never, ever would've guessed a pharmacist would goof up. Here, I always presumed they walk on water, ya know? Until! A couple weeks ago Tom went to renew his Rx, only to be told enough time hadn't elapsed since he'd just picked one up. What?!?! Ya, their records show that HIS prescription was picked up and paid for, but they couldn't/wouldn't tell us by who!

Yes, often the wrong things/situations turn out to be just what we needed...

Are you like me? I make a shopping list before I go and then I get careless or forget to check I got everything on the list. And when I get home, there are things I forgot to put on the list. There's always something.... Medicare is trying to mess me up by deciding they know how many times a day I need to test my blood sugars. The doctor will fix, I guess, but they take you through so many changes, and who are they to tell me what I need, medically.

But then, there's always something nice to think about, like the house on the river. I am beginning to miss waters, the ocean, rivers, and lakes.

I dont know if I could ever work in a pharmacy...it is bad enough being responsible for Rogers medicines.
