Jake N The Sun

"Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them are wrong"..W.R. Purche

I believe this quote by Anatole France. "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."

Jake is 13 this month, or maybe last month, his age is a guess.

Jake Story is at the top of the blog under his very own Tab. .

Jake loves sun and hates cameras.  He is perched on a pillow, unlike the 13 years past that he laid on a blanket.
This year we noticed he was not laying on his blanket in the sun. I finally realized he could not lay on the tile with just a blanket, much to hard for old bones and hips. Us old folks need our comfort..

Yes dogs can show disgust with the photographer with just one look

That is so nice that he has a pillow now to cushion his joints and the warm sunshine too.

Hello, Sandra! I love those quotes, they are so true. Jake is camera shy, I feel the same way. He is a sweetie. Enjoy your day!

I love that quote about not knowing what a life is like with a dog!

Jake is getting up there and I would not want to lie on the floor without a pillow either.

Disco we figure is around nine - he has a gray streak running down his back - does Jake have any gray?

He is a cutie pie.

Aww Happy Birthday Jake! You're so blessed to have such caring yoomen parents that realized you needed padding as a bed now your joints are a bit old. Say hi to your mama for me. Pats from Aunty Jo in South Africa !

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Me and Simba LOVE to search for and sit in the sun! Those rare little sunny patches you find in the winter, that float from place to place. Looks like you have a large and reliable one. That is so funny, he turns his head away, JUST like his master Bob!! I think he learned it from Bob. You are really with it; it would have taken me quite awhile, if ever, to know it was the hard floor. HEY, Simba is 13 too! Well, we all think.

I understand what Jake feels, Dakota is the same...hates the camera. And really hates when mom wants to use him as a model!! I tried earlier to get a pic of him and Lily but he turned his head and Lily tried to get in the lens! Yep....it did not work the way I wanted it too. Jake like me just can't do the hard floor, we need padding! Speaking of padding...you are doing so well with your weight. Doc told me the way to drop the weight is do 500 calories a day. I was doing it before, just can't seem to get to that point again. And it don't help that I baked bread yesterday. Every time I head to the kitchen I have to stop and grab a bite......CRAZY. Hope you and Jake have a great day.
