What She Did

I closed my blog for the week end, I did not post and I did not comment on others posts. Sorry if I ruined your super bowl game viewing by turning off my comments. 😁

#1 accomplishment was writing all the easy, peasy healthy recipes I have printed off the internet onto  the spiral thingy index cards, to avoid being buried in a landslide of papers each time I opened the cabinet that I stuffed them in.
#2 accomplishment was writing this Monday post.

Thursday at our TOPS meeting , All 26 of us brought items from home we no longer wanted, laid them out on tables, with a  paper under each item. We all had a number, mine was 25, and we would write our bid for the item. When the leader called time up, we each went to what we bid on and if we were highest bidder, we picked it up and paid for it. 6 items for 7 dollars.
( Christmas earrings, barbells, index card keeper, 5 sided grater, 2 blouses)

P.S. out of about 70 items, there were only TWO fights because 2 people picked up the items and purchased them even though they were not the highest bidder
Yes, I am serious! one gave in and let the highest bidder have it, the other refused and said but I really want these books. They were worn out paperbacks.

the animal print below is a dressy blouse, made from that slinky material that hides all faults. I had to attend a funeral on Friday and had decided not to go because I did not want to go shopping for a blouse that fit. There it was, my size and perfect. An expensive blouse for ONE DOLLAR...

During the funeral, Out of the corner of my eye, I could see all the covert looks at my blouse and could tell they were stunned by how well I looked in it. heh heh heh I think some of them may have noticed I had on custom made by MadSnapper earrings that matched....🤣

You scored on the sale! What a clever way to get rid of stuff!
So....you are going to lift weights now. You are going to get so healthy and good looking you will make us all feel like lazy bones. I MUST exercise regularly!

I want to see the blouses, you posted everything but them. Too bad you could not take pics at the funeral, how rude that would have been. What a time you had at the meeting!!!You had a busy weekend. Between the meeting, funeral, and getting all the recipes done, for sure no time for blogging stuff. I am sorry about whoever passed away, hope it was not someone really close to you.

Hello Sandra!:) Well done on getting so much done. Copying recipes down, and writing them in my recipe book is something I tend to put off doing, so end up with lots of scraps of paper, any kind, even kitchen roll, tucked inside my recipe book. Love the grater, and dumb bells, and the idea of swapping things you don't want for the highest price. You did well. I'm sorry you had to attend a funeral, something that happens all too frequently at our age.

What a fun way to get rid of the stuff you no longer use or want. Rather sad that someone would buy something when they weren't the highest bidder. I like that grater. I don't think I've ever seen one of those. I have a really old one that I've had forever

I hope you enjoy the paperbacks. (JUST KIDDING!) but do sincerely hope Bob does well with the weights. ;)
On the argument I envisioned Lily Tomlin and Ruth Buzzi in a tug-o-war--haha.
Sounds like a fun time was had by all as the old social pages of the newspapers used to say.

Hello, sounds like a nice weekend. I like the items you bought in the sale, the blouse is pretty. I have been wanting the barbells, hubby and I often used the weights at the old Florida clubhouse. Now, we both miss them.
The index card keeper is great for your recipes. Enjoy your day!

Well done Sandra. That's a great idea for getting rid of unwanted items.
A new blouse for a dollar...can't beat that.
Sometimes it's good to take a break from the computer. I have been on it less myself.
I think I am addicted to it though...going to have to go to "OFF THE COMPUTER" annomous.

Love the idea of that silent auction! But, I've a dumb question: So you were #25 ... does that mean you had to wait to bid until #'s 1 through 24 went before? I'm shaking my head about those cheaters who didn't play fair? Did they not learn anything in kindergarten? :) I wonder if they'll have the nerve to show up again.

Please post a pix of you in the new blouses, OK?

I want to see your blouse too. Oh MS are we late. The peeps left at 10:30 for haircuts at 11. When they arrived they found the stylist was way behind because one of the early customers was L A T E due to traffic out where she lives.. There were 4 people ahead of us. We had to wait almost an hour to get our hair cut. She said she started to tell miss tardypants should could not do her hair but tardypants has lots things going on so she did her hair.
We got home 2 hours later. Now I'm behind. here is is 2 pm and I just got tonight's supper in the cp at 1:30.
Hugs Cecilia

I so love your attitude!!!! Fighting over worn out paperback books? Are people insane?

I haven't had a lot of time for commenting lately either, but I'm not getting as much done as I should. I just don't know where the time goes.
Funny about the person not giving up the paperbacks. Gosh, people never cease to amaze me!
Now, show us a selfie of you in that pretty blouse...we wanna see it.

Lol...btw, I was disappointed on the weekend because I thought I would come here to read some fresh words of wisdom, and leave a few of my own, only to find you closed up shop for the two days.

What a good way to get rid of things you no longer need and get some that you can use, like the blouses. And, yes I am sure Sandra that you looked wonderful, despite the occasion being a sad event.
