Mad MONDAY -Wally World and ME

Every Saturday AM at 6:30 I walk in the door to the above Wal-Mart and Have since the day it opened, about 23 years now. I LOVE WALMART... I love one stop shopping, where else  can I get bacon, oranges, glue, dog food, paint, clothing, sheets, towels, detergent.... TV, computer, phone, batteries, Makeup, Fish Oil, yada yada blah blah blah.... PLUS the cheap prices..

Wal-Mart is the largest company in the whole wide world by revenue and they employee 2.3 million employees.

THIS WEEK the MANAGER of the MY store Store Called ME, the MadSnapper, on the PHONE....

The Rest of the Story.... 2 weeks ago, I walked up to the deli for my hubby's sandwich meat, and the man said We Don't Open Until 8.... it was 7:05 AM, which is the exact time I stand there every week, with several other people.

THEY changed the time, we open at 8 now.
I said where is the sign? you did this without warning?

Off I went to find a manager, who came and told him to sell us what we wanted (by now there were 3 of us, I left with my Old Farmers Ham... Yes, I know we should not eat processed meat..

NEXT week it was not open. I came home and sent a message via computer to the home office of Wal-Mart and with in 24 hours my phone rang.

Reading the Caller ID on the TV Screen in front of CNN Bob  yells why is Walmart calling?
( I had told him this story IN DETAIL and that I was contacting home office..he had no clue)

YAY!
It was the manager of MY store and she promised me the deli is open 7 to 8 and will be 7 days a week... TODAY it was open at 7 am..

Feel Free to state all the reasons you don't love Wal-Mart but you will never change my mind.
I LOVE Wal-Mart.

Good for you!!! That makes no sense for them to NOT be open when the store is!!! That's crazy! I'm always amazed at your early morning adventures. By the time you go to bed, I'm just getting my second wind! Which is why I comment on your posts late at night!
Yay for Walmart!!! Or Wally World as some people call them!!

Wow, I am very impressed! They are so huge that they did not even have to pay any attention to little old YOU. I would have just been upset and walked away, thinking new rules are new rules. But you changed the entire deli department!! I wish I could do things like that. The list, I never heard most of them. But I do know that CVS bought an entire pharmacy corporation. That would mean they can make their own drugs. I don't know if a pharmacy should have that much control or power.

I always find it so ridiculous when people refuse to help especially when they are in a position to... I mean the guy was there behind the deli counter... With everything available to sell... Just silly and a little infuriating...

I sort of have a love-hate relationship with Walmart. I don't know about other places, but around here they aren't necessarily the least expensive place to shop. That's awesome that the store manager called you and changed the opening time for the deli. Why would that guy have even been there if the deli wasn't open yet. It seems to me that if a store is going to be open 24 hours then every department in the store should be open 24 hours even if one person might be taking care of more than one department.

Crazy that the deli would not be open at that time. Thankful that they are customer oriented. You know I love our WM!

Good for you, Sandra, on voicing your objection and for getting some action taken as a result! While I neither love or hate Walmart, it is commendable that your concern was addressed as I am sure other early shoppers were not happy with the changes as well.

I love Walmart too. During our road trips it was a welcome stop for food and other shopping.

I really like my Wally-World. I don't go at 6:30 but I do get there at

Oh and I put my pants on right leg first. Tried it left leg but I did a wee little Irsih jig

I try to speak up but I don't want to be the type that nit picks at everything. I would have spoke up also about the deli. Good for you.

I use to love the Walmarts in Austin...well lit and clean and had EVERYTHING!!

Here in rural California, our Walmart is small, a bit scary...and doesn't have much at all(no deli, so no worrying about it being open) :-(

Their customer service is impressive that’s for sure.

That certainly is one stop shopping for you. Several of the items you listed I can't buy at Wal-Mart. Way to go on changing the times for the deli!

We are lucky enough to have something better than Walmart and that is a local (south Texas) super center...HEB . And it's much cheaper than 'wally's'. I ONLY go to Walmart when I'm in dire need of something that HEB's is out of stock.

ps...high five for the time change!

Oh, I'd be sooooo cross! I hope that employee was given some much-needed lessons in customer service. Either that, or shown the back door.

Here, I keep meaning to PM you about Wal-Mart. This place (in Coosada) is like night and day, compared to Arizona. As in, everyone we've encountered is so friendly; even the stockers go out of their way to walk us to what we're looking for (v. point). Tom was blown away at the prices, too! Aside from Food Outlet (cost + 10% emporium), WM's become our go-to!

I never shopped at a Walmart until a few years ago...
None around where we used to live.
I thought the prices and one stop shop were fantastic when we went shopping with my son while we visited him in Oregon.
Now we have a neighborhood Walmart just a mile and a half from our house and a Super Walmart 3 miles.
Love shopping at the neighborhood one..pleased with the produce, meat and assortment of stuff that I can find there. Most of the workers there are pretty nice too.
I'm a confirmed shopper of Wally World.

Walmart was one of my favorite places to shop at during my college years. Reasonable priced groceries, and they pretty much have everything there. Thanks for the share.

Whether I like it or not, it's coming to our town. It's arrival has been in the courts since I moved here 12 years ago. And now it's coming. I have only been in a Walmart about two or three times in my life. There wasn't one in the middle of Los Angeles, but we had a Target not too far away. The one to come here is a superstore and will make changes to our town, for sure. I will wait and see before I say anything -- for or against

I am shocked they called you - but I am glad they did. I love WalMart as well - I don't get there that early and things are busy when I am there - but I like cheap and one stop shopping! Good for you. Bet the guy got in trouble.

Sounds like you are getting good costumer service. I have tried doing my grocery shopping at Walmart, but since the store here is much smaller than many, it has a limited selection.I've been in some of the larger stores and they look much better

I live in AR where Mr. Sam Walton opened the first WalMart and where the home office still is. I could say a lot but will only say in my area WalMart is NOT what it used to be. I rarely go to the store but do order some things online from there although not often. I am glad you have a nice store there and enjoy going there and shopping. Good for you too getting something done about the deli hours. Hugs

You should get a customer award seeing as it is a daily event and loyalty too to the same store for years. We have 4 Walmart's in our vicinity and all are different in services, size and friendliness. Depending on what we need we will go to the location we figure will serve our purpose. We rarely buy food there. We go to local grocers that make their own baked goods and cured meat like corned beef and roast turkey. We love their goodies in the salad section too. I think I go to different places to keep myself from getting bored. I need to walk around to challenge myself and Buddy. I think for us shopping is a form of adventure. And we have to factor my ability to see into it now.

Wally World is just about my only outing every week as far as shopping goes. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Mostly because I don't always follow my list!

I love our little Walmart too, and I love the bigger walmart in a nearby town...one I do not love, but it is the people that go there and the workers. Though I have not been to it in years and years just because of the attitude. My daughter and I used to say all the crazies came out at night. But no matter when I went there everyone had an attitude.

But our two walmarts we go to all the time, the employees could not be more helpful...just really enjoy them. People complain of them putting the locals out of business, but they sure employee a lot of people.
