More beautiful greens from my walk in the neighborhood.
You will never guess what we saw on our Saturday am walk with Big Boy.
Did you guess this?
A coyote that was exactly like this photo off the internet.. The 3 of us were ambling along and I heard a horn honk. I glanced back and the truck was riding in the middle of the road, warning us the coyote was running straight at us, right down the middle of the road. The poor coyote was terrified and of course I was to.... we hustled to the corner, which was about 30 feet away and hoofed it towards home, the Coyote did not even look at us. We are hoping the man in the truck herded him back to the park. They have no where to roam, our county has PRETTIFIED there habitats, making human boardwalks and concrete paths with out any thought for wildlife.

We have coyotes at the ranch and I have heard them many a time but I have never actually SEEN one! Lucky you but I'm glad you got Big Boy back to the house! No need to tangle with a coyote!
Hello, pretty plants. The coyote is a cool sightings, as long as they are a distance away. I am glad you all were safe. I never see coyotes around here, I do remember seeing coyote warning signs in several Florida parks. Enjoy your day!
WOW, good thing that truck came along and honked or that could have been some surprise moving up on you.
Your poor coyote is suffering like our foxes. People don't like them in the towns but think nothing of taking the countryside their natural habitat.

I know they are not dangerous critters but they are WILD...and it's still scary to see one. I hope he finds his way back out in the woods to roam. You're doing so great with your walks. We did a 2 hour hike yesterday but I need to get out more often. I'm a little sore this morning! Isn't this weather gorgeous though?! Hugs!
It is so very sad, to see our wildlife displaced by human development :-(.
Love your shadowy greenery!
I've learned over the years that coyote are adapting to human towns. We see 'em a lot.

There is a lot of rural area surrounding our urban settings. the critters really have no place to roam any longer. My son has seen many coyotes in the huge field behind his house. they are after the mice and rabbits.
Glad you were okay. don't want Big Boy tangling with them.
Love the greenery.
OH my stars not what one would expect to see on a glorious morning.
Surely he was lost or something I kinda thought they were nocturnal
I did not get on a trial woohoo.
Hugs Cecilia
Oh my gosh! Was Big Boy's fur standing on end?
We used to have regular coyote sightings at The Legacy (where I worked); in fact, one would amble in front of my car each morning, taking his own sweet time. He looked so terribly skinny, I was always tempted to carry dog bones. Unfortunately, his story came to a tragic end. One of our guests was walking the greens with his little granddaughter - who had cookies in her hand. The coyote didn't attack them, but sideswiped the child to get the treats. Of course, the you-know-what hit the fan and animal control had to be called out to dispose of the (so-called) threat. So sad to realize, we're doing wild animals a huge disservice by 'training' them to lose their fear of humans.
So often the animals are blamed for entering human territory when in fact it is th either way round. These animals have been driven from their homes. Having said that, Instill don’t want a coyote too close to me.
Wild animals are moving closer into neighborhoods more and more....building and clearing out of their space is causing all this. We are seeing more and more wild ones, coyotes, bobcats and mt lion, hawks, fox, raccoon and even deer. Geting to the point it is best to go out with your small animals cause you never know.
Love your photos. Coyotes scare me and we have to be very careful with Skye.
How fun to see the Coyote. It is a shame that humans have taken over animals habitats.
I guess they don't know where to go - we have them here too.
Everything looks so lush and green. Great shots, including the Coyote.
