The best of intentons

Best laid plans of MadSnapper and Men went awry, when Windows 10 highjacked my 10 year old desk top for 4 hours, stuck in updates. I had just dumped the photos in the desk top AND DELETED them from camera...ssssoooooooooooooooo…

they were held hostage and I could not tell you the rest of the construction story from yesterday. Since  I had popped this tree in my drafts for no good reason...Here we are

I NEVER delete photos from camera until I save them online or on external BUT I DID...

If you follow Diane, at Welcome to Lavender Dreams, she has lost her blog and asked me to post the new address  HERE...… without warning Google removed her blog and she has been unable to get it back. It is a good idea to back up your blog for Just In case

Hello,

The tree is pretty, I am looking forward to seeing green on the trees here.
I hope Diane gets her blog back, if I was her I would be very upset. I hope your computer is back to normal. Enjoy your day!

Always, ALWAYS, keep at least one if not two copies of any and all work. Backing up the blog I have spoken of several times on my own blog and this is a timely reminder as to why it is a good plan. Even if it is only once a year, at least the worst case scenario is 12 months loss - which it won't be if a regular content backup has taken place anyway.

Removal of blogs, however, is not taken lightly by Google. There are very specific guidelines/terms and conditions and actions taken by for 'offending'.

One thing to bear in mind is that there are all sorts of malware out there which can hijack your URL, thus infecting others who visit it, and it is possible that the bots found one of these on 'Lavender'. While the authors were not the perpetrators, their blog would have become a danger to others. It is also possible that they voiced an opinion in such a way that it cut across acceptable boundaries and was viewed as hazardous.

It's like that time when you were caught at school wearing an item deemed "non-regulation" and got detention for a week without ever knowing which item it was that offended... YAM xx

My post today is a copy of Diane's post on her new blog. I would be so upset if they did that to me. So many years worth of posts. I don't even know how to back up my blog so I guess I should learn.

I agree with the comment above...with Diane being the sweet lady she is, it Can't be her blogging style. BACK UP

And, hope you get your woes cleared away.

I hope everyone got the notice that Google+ is done. No more, nada.
We were forced to set it up when it came out but had the option of keeping our Blogger sign-in instead of signing into Google+.
If your Google+ blog page is gone maybe try signing into blogger.com with your Blogger credentials. Just a hope.

Thanks so much for mentioning me today and getting my new address to our friends. I still hope I get my old blog back but if I don't, I'll let you know and start posting pretty pics on the new one. It's a beautiful day here in FL! Hope you have a great one! Sweet hugs, Diane

How do you back up just a blog? An entire blog! Is this because of Google Plus leaving? Now I am nervous. I have windows 7, so maybe this won't affect me since that is a old version. The tree looks like it has nature's tinsel.

Love the tree against the clear blue sky. The leaves are a vibrant green. I have backed up my blog although of course it's only words and not the photos. I back up my photos on an external hard drive. I've just bought a second one as I have so many photo folders! Have a good day photo day Sandra.

I always backup my photos to Shutterfly. That is very strange about her blog. I feel bad for her.

Ooooh no! I'd be positively catatonic, were my life (aka, blog) disappear. So frightening, but like some have said, I haven't a clue how to back it up. Must investigoogle, sooner rather than later!

I also know the importance of always backing up online.I could have lost over 30,000 pictures had I not done that, when my computer and external hard drive crashed at the same time.

My Apple machine went caput when I was doing updates...UGH! Luckily, I store most of my pictures on our "network" (Having an IT Professional as a hubby does come in handy ;-))

Hope you got everything recovered!

I'm not sure how to back up my blog either.
It's a crazy digital world we live in and I'm still in the "typewriter era"...

Good advice Sandra - we never plan on a problem, yet once they come - we wish we had.

I have mentioned Lavender Dreams on my blog too, such a nightmare and a good reminder to me that I haven't backed up my blog in I can't remember when.

That is terrible that her blog disappeared I hope she can get it back. It is a good idea to not only back up your blog but also what is on your computer. Weird things happen sometime and we never know when. Hugs
