New Green on Nature Friday

We have had less than a quarter inch of rain in the past 2 weeks, and before that only 1/2 inch in the past 2 months. That small 1/4 inch of rain caused the Oak Tree in the front yard to burst into brilliant new green leaves. the darker at the top are the old leaves. Old leaves are pushed off by new leaves here, and the tree is never bare...

Birds are singing, Spring is Springing.
Sneezes are Sneezing
Skies are blue, this is all true.

March allergies came the first day of February this year. So did the need for Air Conditioning.
The little oak squiggly thingys are clogging the pool pump and pollen is so thick on the pool we can draw in it.
The cars left outside are covered in yellow.

Your last pictures are so stunning, with the sun shining through the leaves. I just can't imagine this, we are getting snow today. Your descriptions sound like mid summer.

I would love trees that held their leaves all year long. I think that's one of the worst parts about winter, seeing all the trees looking bare and dead.

How uplifting to see the new green leaves. Looking forward to that happening here too. There's nothing better than this bright shade of green against a blue sky. More blue here would be welcome.

I love the last images of the sun through the leaves. I had a jolly American in my shop yesterday: very bouncy and chatty. He asked what we in SA think Americans. I said i had many friends in the USA one very special one in Florida., so he said i am from Florida! Thanks for being such a loyal friend.

Can't wait till we start seeing more green! Course the rain has to clear out for us to enjoy. In reply to your question about Lily....no catnip she just does this in the evenings, usually before bedtime!

I giggled at Bamboo being the new 4 letter word.
I didn't realize it was so invasive. Kinda like the 5 letter word Kudzu is here. I sure do wish we could share our rain with you all

How I wish we might send you some of our rain! I'm loving the way that tree limb frames the top of your first photo!

I'm sure wishing that I could send you some of our rain too.
I believe we are getting a tiny reprieve today. It's enough that the lawn guy is here madly cutting the grass before it dumps again.
At least the rain has washed the pollen away for the time being. My nose is very thankful.Maybe I'll put up a nature Friday post this time too.
Our plum tree is blooming it's head off. I hope the gusty wind doesn't blow the petals off before the bees can get to it. We need a good crop this year. Last year was terrible.
Happy Weekend

I've seen pollen covered cars and the covered ground over the years but only in pictures. I've never experience it where I live. We have had so much rain this year it's been record breaking. We have had 15 inches of rain so fair and more on the way.

We've had TOO much rain the last 8 months, a lot of mold around. Hmmm, what's worse, mold or pollen?

Love the photos. We had a lot of rain earlier in the week. This pollen is killing me. Sneezing and a constant earache from fluid building up inside.
