Nature Friday from our back yard

This tall green plant is beautiful, we bought a 6 inch plant way back in 1990, we have not idea what it is, but if you break a small piece off it will grow 12 feet tall in on year. This one is about 20 feet up and that beautiful yellow is our neighbors Maple Tree... It did not turn because it is autumn, it turned because it is 92 degrees and no rain...  I could not resist the green against the yellow.

The pine tree is over the tall green unknown tree in our yard, the maple is 50 feet on the other side of our fence and the green in the lower right corner is a giant mango tree, 200 feet away.

I now have 13 posts in drafts, all from Village of The Arts...

The last picture is my favorite, it is beautiful! I can see that the yellow leaves are not healthy yellow, and all dried up. Your green plant looks really familiar to me, a plant that people have here as a house plant.

That's a fast growing plant. It looks pretty against the yellow of your neighbors tree. The leaves kind of remind me of a rhodadendrum.

Ficus? It looks like it. Not sure tho. If it is Ficus, I've read they're invasive & choke other nearby plants. That may be the reason it grows quickly.

That's not ficus... that's AUSTRALIAN IVY PALM aka, 'Umbrella tree' Latin name Schefflera. I have them as house plants here at the Hutch, as they need warmth. They are indeed hardy. I don't water them for weeks on end and they await my return from all travels with stoic patience!!! YAM xx

Gosh, those colors make my heart smile! Green n' gold were our high-school colors. Not that those years were particularly enjoyable -- but, the colors of the surrounding Jemez mountainsides when the Aspen would turn.

Obviously, it's not just Big (and his angel siblings) that thrive under your watch. :)

Well, I had no idea what the one plant is...but read the comments and saw what the others thought.

We are getting some color, more than I thought we were going to get.

The green and yellow and, of course, the blue sky are beautiful colours together.

You have an artist’s eye no matter where you look!

It does look pretty against the yellow tree. We usually get a few trees of color around late November.

Love your green and gold too...they were also my high school colors...
I think that scheffilaria is probably the right guess. Usually it's an indoor plant but your tropical climate is just what it needs.
Leaves slowly turning in our neighborhood. Love this time of year.
