Free Glasses for ME

Bob and I are on a Medicare Advantage Plan HMO... Every 2 years, I can get new FREE glasses on this plan. Free!  I have never taken the deal as I prefer to put new lenses in my rimless Sighlouttes, that are titanium arms, cyrizlite non glass, no glare and very expensive lens.

They weigh nothing. I forget they are on my face. These new ones are heavy metal, and the glass is even heavier. I already have a sore red spot where they sit.

Plus they are lined bi-focals and very hard to find the spot to see properly. I am wearing these while my others were sent off for new trifocal lens.

I am home today and not a TOPS because I am dragging Bob by the hair of his chinny, chin, chin to the dermatologist to let her try to talk him into a surgery for melanoma. He had it removed in 2017, it recurred in same spot but much bigger, they removed it last May 2019 and wanted to do another because Margins were not clear. He has refused for 8 months, we shall see if the doc can change his mind...

This is the first time I have missed the weekly TOPS meeting in 3 years. I posted all the selfies because I AM THE MADSNAPPER

Hello,

Free, you can't beat that. I went to America's Best for their 2 for $69 deal. I hope Bob's exam goes well, he should listen to the Doctor. Hope your day is great!

There is no such thing as free - you've paid for them somewhere down the line - even it was in taxes! It is good to get something back for that though. I have lined bifocals, but they are not too prominent - but then again I don't have to wear them for walking or anything. Purely for working.

I too wish success for Bob getting 'sorted'! YAM xx

I sure hope Bob goes and gets that taken care of soon. Melanoma is not something to fool with-it is invasive and can move through the body very quickly without any signs whatsoever.
I like the looks of your new glasses but not that they are heavy like that. xo Diana

I like the glasses. But now you will have to post a side by side of you wearing both of them so I can decide. It doesn't really matter, because these are too uncomfortable to wear. But it's good to have a spare. Plus they can fix the sore spot by adjusting the glasses, they have done that for me many times. Of course you will still have the other problems with them. Let me know about the appointment.

Yay, for dragging Bob to the Dr.
Praying he gets convinced to get things taken care of. Its nothing to mess around with.
Those glasses and your selfies are terrific looking on you.
I really do understand about the weight and all.
Its good to have a spare though. I sure prefer my transitions to the line bifocals too. The adjustment always made me dizzy.
Can't wait to hear what the final outcome on Bob will be.

What do you mean melanoma?
OMG! That's horrible! Is life threatening this disease ...
Please tell us he is going to the hospital for surgery!
I am always in favor of very light glasses!

I'm going to buy new glasses in March. I'm tired of layering glasses like accessories!

Well free is my favorite price, you can't beat that. They do look nice on you even if they are heavy

Because you CAN! (heh-heh)
I do like the new glasses look. If they're uncomfortable, however, mine would disappear accidentally-on-purpose.

Crazy how Medicare programs differ. Even tho' we were both on a Humana advantage plan last year, Debbie gets ALL her eyewear and check-ups free … while mine only provides a $100 allowance. When I had to make my 2020 election, sure enough: If I changed my zip code to a St. Petersburg on the application it showed available for $0 premiums, but not in Alabama. S'not fair!

Prayers continuing.

Those glasses do look good on you. Hope the doctor can persuade Bob to get that taken care of.

Your glasses look great on you. I'm glad you have persuaded Bob to go to the doctor.

Here’s hoping that you did successfully drag Bob to the doctor’s and that the news was not bad, Sandra. Free is nice, but it sounds like you really are anxious to get your old frames back and then you can use the free ones as a backup pair.

Best wishes with glasses and Bob's decision-making. You have the greatest smile!
