Mayo or No Mayo?

While jumping up and down exercising/chatting in the pool with my friends Jackie and Patsy, as we do five days a week, I said I could eat Mayo with a spoon. Not out of the blue mind you. Patsy is a KOP, Keep off Pounds sensibly, and the person who directed me to TOPS 3 years ago.

The comment fit the conversation we were having. Discussing healthy vs unhealthy foods.

I said I love mayonnaise on bread, crackers, burgers, sandwiches. Just give me a slice of WHITE bread and a jar of Mayo... or a box of crackers and a jar of mayo.

Patsy said "I can't remember when I last ate Mayonnaise. In fact I have never had  jar of it in my home, not even as a child"

WHAT?

I would have fainted dead on the floor at this comment but, we WERE in the pool.

What do you put in deviled eggs, potato salad, chicken salad, ham salad, bacon sandwich, TOMATO sandwich?
Her answer was MUSTARD? OMW!!! I put mayo AND mustard in eggs, potato salad or hotdogs.

Forget healthy, I know it is NOT but  lets hear from all of you?

Mayo or No Mayo? tell me please?
 Do you eat Mayonnaise?
What is your favorite brand? I am Blue Plate since birth. But there are a zillion brands, click HERE to see the brands, and this has to mean a lot of people eat Mayo or there would not be a zillion brands.

I LOVE mayo, and always have a big jar! Never heard of your brand, but the label looks kind of like Hellman's. I am the same as you, and love mayo on almost everything. I have known people who do not like it, though. Imagine that!

We buy Thommy Mayonnaise, a Swiss brand of course. We don't eat it like you but we have it in salad sauces. I could live without it.

I can't imagine life without mayo!!! I grew up on Miracle Whip but switched to real mayo when I got Louis Dean!!

I love mayo, but I never buy this in the supermarket!
I always do it at home, with fresh ingredients.

Mayo with deviled eggs & potato salad. On sandwiches I prefer mustard or nothing. Well, wait...a BLT has got to have mayo. And Hellman's REAL.

thumbs up on mayo. To be technical I can eat either mayo or salad dressing. I used to always buy Miracle Whip salad dressing then when I met Wade he would only eat Hellmans real mayonnaise so I just switched. I'm not that fussy so it was no big deal for me to switch. Now I actually have both in my house because I like mayo on a sandwich but I will use salad dressing in potato/macaroni salad and deviled eggs.

I forgot to say that I can't imagine potato salad or deviled eggs made with just mustard

Hello,

Yes, we are a Mayo family. I grew up with Hellman's mayo and it is all we use. We did find that Aldi's mayo (cheaper) is made by the same company as Hellman's. I could not eat mayo just by itself though, I like it on sandwiches, burgers, deviled eggs, tuna and more. Enjoy your mayo and have a happy day!

We use Kraft Miracle Whip...but I can use either one. I use it in potato salad and deviled eggs...and Roger used to love Thousand Iskad dressing...sometimes I would make some of the deviled eggs with Thousand Island dressing. But I dont like it like you do...I must have it on a BLT and on a hamburger. Thst is about all I want it on.

Thousand ISLAND, NOT whatever that word up above

FUN post! The short answer: I'm known to enjoy a little burger or fries with my mayo.

Except. Once at a company BBQ my boss embarrassed me in front of the entire staff when she made a loud, disparaging comment on how much I was using. From then on, whenever she was around I'd only use mustard.
Growing up, we never had real mayo … just Miracle Whip. My mother even put a dollop atop her salad.
For years and years, we've only used Hellmann's. Never heard of Duke's until Jack (Ship's Log) spoke of it, but I like it now and then. Not so much Tom, since it tastes a bit sweeter than the Hellmann's.

I like Duke's Mayo (local brand). I put mayo and mustard in 'tater salad.
I like mayo on a banana sandwich. When I at baloney sandwiches (don't any more) I put mayo on one side of the bread and mustard on the other. Still do that with a ham or turkey sandwich. I don't like mayo on hamburgers or on hot dogs.

Grew up in a Mayo household; continued the tradition. Mayo on one of my mum's homemade bread or buns. We called them mayo sandwiches. I was thrilled, as a diabetic, that Mayo has no carbs.
Everything in moderation as it relates to our conditions and enjoy!

I love mayo, the full fat sort, not the reduced stuff. Tom likes salad cream.
I put mayo on anything and everything, no wonder I'm a large lady, lol

I use mayo, however it is not something I use everyday but I would put it in deviled eggs or with my tuna. When I was younger I use to like miracle whip with white bread! I have best foods olive oil mayo. Best Foods is Hellman's in out states or at least it was.

I love mayo, and before I joined WW in 1995, I would have it on EVERTHING just like you...my favorite was peanut butter, mayo and banana sandwiches! After I started eating healthier tho, except for in recipes, I don't eat it as much. I keep a small jar in the frig.

I used to use mayo on everything but now Dave and I use Best Foods Olive Oil mayo when we do have a sandwich.
Use it definitely in potato salad, deviled eggs, and chicken and tuna sandwiches...
Now I'm hungry for so many things I shouldn't be eating...groan!!!

I don’t use Mayo, but something similar called Miracle Whip. Have to have for potato salad or egg salad.

Never Miracle Whip!

I didn't have mayonnaise until I came to the States. We have Hellman's or Kraft, and make chicken salad with it. Not so much now because we are trying to keep that stuff down but I like mayonnaise a lot.

We like Hellman’s mayo and also used Dukes when we lived in VA. We like bith mustard and mayo, but nit together, except maybe when doing deviled eggs.
