Important you read this...

my FIRST try

I spoke to my friend in Savannah and she has just moved. She has no landline or internet and only basic cable until the cable guys will come in her house. I freaked after I talked to her, because my internet has been leaving and coming back many times a day for 3 days...

that is how I found out the cable providers will not come in the house. If the problem is outside the house or can be fixed from their business, they will fix it. THEY will not come until the Virus releases us from ITS GRIP...

I woke up this morning and started to MadCastrophize about internet. I CAN"T STAY home without it.
NO PICMONKEY to play with photos. No blog posting, no reading blogs or email, no FaceBook.

AND THE WORST thing of all, I can't get books to come in my kindle. As of 5 am today, all 3 kindles have books... 33 on the OLD one, 38 on the 2nd and 28 on the new one. All Different.

I did it that way in case a battery dies on one, or one just quits because it is old.

I have 136 books and even if i go from 3 books a week to 2 books a week, if the Virus Lock In last longer that that. I will not need them, I will be in a mental hospital.

As I typed this I had an even more horrible thought!!!! WHAT IF CABLE GOES OUT AND I AM LEFT WITH BOB AND NOT TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COMING TOMORROW TO A BLOG NEAR YOU.... the explanation of what the photo is all about.

If the hair looks odd, it has vitamin e oil in it. I figured since my next schedule outing is Tuesday at 6 am, and my hair is like straw, I would give it an oil treatment.

Your hair looks good, and you look like a bandit. I need to make a couple masks, too! We have never had to have a cable guy need to come into the house for repairs. They either do it in the office or outside. Have you ever had them need need to come inside? I think it is kind of a rare thing, so you should be O.K.

We don't have cable -- get our internet over the phone line -- but I agree with Ginny. It's unlikely the problem is inside your house. I agree about the internet being essential to my sanity! Good luck!

I like the scarf and your hair looks fine.

Yes, the internet is being realised to its full potential in this crisis, methinks. The telly stuff is not an issue for us, ours being all radio transmission. YAM xx

We were warned that the internet will falter, but so far it has not happened to us.
Everyone is at home and ... on the internet! So it is very busy!

Yes it would be pretty boring without internet or TV although we did stack up on library books before the partial lockdown.
Take care don't murder Bob.

Love the hair color...pretty. And your coronavirus mask is great.

As for lack of kindle & cable, at least I'm 'safe'...got hardcover books & a DVD player to read/watch movies and/or TV series. You could always build you a she she'd & meditate.

I hate to think what no internet would be like!

The only time we had trouble with cable that they would have had to come in the house for they said they would send a tech but we would be charged for it. We ended up switching to a different provider.
I think I would go absolutely crazy with no internet. I would still have some tv with the antenna but I wouldn't be able to get any of the stuff I stream with my fire stick. .

Hello,

I hope all is well with your internet. I guess I should add more books onto my kindle. I would be lost without the internet and my books. So far, knock on wood our cable internet seems fine. Take care and stay safe. Wishing you a happy day!

by happenstance I put an Amazon Firestick on the RG's t.v. shortly before this chaos and now I hear LOUD chainsaws several times a day when he watches YouTube videos. It wouldn't work without internet but does without cable t.v.

YIKES … that's something I hadn't even considered.
For absolutely no reason, I've been catastrophizing: WHAT IF the air conditioner breaks down? Ours is but 7-8 years old and we have the service come check twice a year. But still...

PS - I like the shine in your hair! Once in a while I'll use coconut oil, but learned the hard way, a LITTLE bit goes a long way.

Who IS that masked woman? Oh, it's YOU!! I am just gonna let my hair grow. I will look like the Wicked Witch of the West by the time all this is over. I cut my own bangs the other day. For some reason, I wanted to be able to see. She-who-has-skill-with-scissors always knows when I have resorted to cutting my own bangs and always tells me not to do it again, but sometimes you hafta do what you hafta do.

About my granddaughter and her picture of Franz Liszt, I think maybe the last lesson she had while school was still in session was music appreciation. She's in Kindergarten. I guess the schools want to introduce them to some alternative music before they enter the musical world of pre-teendom.

I can relate to this as today I switched the television on and then three channels including the national BBC were frozen. I thought what's going on now? Those three channels are the ones we prefer to watch, be entertained and get news. It took ages for normal service to be resumed. I know why you have that bandana over your face. We haven't gone out, but if we did I would do the same.

Ohhh you know I'm liking you as the Masked Madsnapper.
Every now and then I seemed to have had a little drop in power but not too bad.

My internet connection has been a bit wobbly on and off as well. The hiccups have not lasted long but enough to scare me when it happens. I keep telling myself the fault is more likely to be somewhere else than in my own equipment (or apartment), though. Like, due to too many people staying home and using the internet at the same time for both work and play these days. (??) ... Today, my printer went on strike though, and the error code suggests it needs professional fixing. Which in turn suggests to me it's probably both simpler and cheaper to buy a new one... The scanner part of it still works though. I'll leave it until after Easter to decide what to do (unless I find some magic fix online). Don't think I really have to print out anything important before then!

Your first try looks similar to ours, Sandra, as we already had the bandanas and elastic bans at home. And, yes, it would be shame if the internet wasn't there. It's how I download my e-books and keep entertained with youtube videos and most importantly follow bloggers!

Losing our internet is also a big scare of mine! Hopefully all will stay well with everyone's connections!

My son said that the slowdown on the internet is really due to everyone being on the thing day and night..streaming takes a whole lot of band-width and some other techie stuff I don't understand.
Everybody is doing Zoom or Skype type calls and doing church on line. The air waves are truly busy.
I sure hope this won't go down..It will result in a lot of people just staring at each other.
Got income tax to do, plenty of hardbacks to read and a camera that says why not shoot a few pix instead of looking at the screen all day?
Trying so hard to stay positive and there is no rain today, so I think Dave and I will get out and trot around the block...
Looking great in that mask..you need a selfie of you and Bob wearing them.
Sue

Sandra, do you think to “ in and out” with your service is because of the additional strain/drain. Think about it...so many people are utilizing it for video conferencing, streaming, etc. For your sake I hope it doesn’t go out. For my sake, I hope it doesn’t go since the Pres TV shows and my Internet come from the same provider...ugh!!!....:)JP

First thing I saw on the picture was how good you looked in red.
I couldn't imagine being in for a month without something to take my mind off of things. I hear you.
I hope it comes back on.

Our landline went out. It was out for a week before I could even get someone to answer or return a call. It worked out well. Definitely didn't want anyone in the house. He wore a mask and shoe protection. We also had on masks. So far so good.
