Switcharoo is what I DO

Standing Station

My shoulder pain is gone
I am able to blog on.
 Switcharoo is what I do,
To keep my daily visits to all of YOU.

Switcharoo defined.
I switch from cell phone, tablet, desktop, laptop.
I switch from platform rocker, sofa, easy chair, two desk chairs.

Before, I sat in the rocker, with laptop on lap for HOURS at a time.
I sat at the desk top for HOURS at a time.
Now the new me, switches from  standing, sitting and sitting in different places.
Before I had hand/shoulder pain and headaches every day.

No pain, No headaches. I had no idea the damage I was doing.
I found I need to keep what ever I am using at eye height.
At first when I changed to the phone, I woke up with neck ache.
Looking down is not good....

I gave up edits in software, and found if I take photos with phone, i can do a 30 second collage, like the one yesterday post,  on the phone. I can either talk to phone or do what I am doing now. I am adding words via laptop in lap but only one post at a time.

The phone is much faster to comment, it types as fast as I talk, the tablet is much slower because it is OLD, not as old as ME but in Device Land it is a senior.

Sitting Rocker Station, the box brings phone/tablet up to eye level when I sit it in my lap..
Below is my retired phone and I can take photos like this and still upload on blogger mobile from the new phone.  DON'T fret, I am going to do much shorter posts and I hope to get my humor back since the pain is gone

To me, you never lost your humor thru it all. I am so happy for you, that you figured all of this out! It is so many different things. If this were me, I would forget part of it, and never remember all the devices and positions, and what to do on which. I bet you feel like a totally new YOU, without being worn down by pain.

I'm sorry you're having pain, but I think you are handling it wonderfully. Thanks you so much for posting! As you say, the posts can be very short, but we love connecting with you.

Where there's a will there's a way and you proved that the old saying is true. I'm so glad you found a way to work through this and that you're pain is gone.
My phone is kind of slow typing when I talk to it. A lot of times it will totally skip the first part of a sentence.

Hello,

I am glad you found a way to help you blog pain free. I am still only using my desk top, it is a good thing I can type fast. If only my brain worked as fast as my fingers. Enjoy your day!

MS proof positive nuttin' keep MS off the interwebs and I'm very thankful...
I have a tv tray that I keep by my desk. About once a day I'll put it on the desk and the desktop on the tray. Instantly makes a huge difference

Yay!! Great News! And I'm proud of you for facing the challenge of 'change' and taking the steps to remedy the situation. Unfortunately pain is a powerful motivator.

YIPPEE! So glad you unlocked the key to pain-free blogging! I think your solution should go in a medical journal! And your experience should be a warning to anyone (like me) who sits in the same position doing the same thing, day after day.
Watch out world, Mad Snapper's baaaack!

I'm so glad you found a way to cope. Also, this was very informative, thank you. When I had a desktop everything was at perfect eye level. It is now too with the laptop because I sit in bed and type with my legs folded with knees up and the computer resting against them. I think I must have a natural aversion for looking down or maybe it's the way my eyeglasses are with their blended lenses. This was great though, thank you.

I think you are definitely on to something. Getting our keyboards at the right height was a game changer for us.

I'm so glad you have figured out how to be pain free...Good for you..
That's one of the things I really like about you...your determination and persistence. You work at something until you get the problem solved.
Now
If I can only loose those extra pounds I will be right there with you.
the goal is to have them gone before October. i have a special wedding to be a part of and need to be at my best !!

Okay you have given me food for thought.
My problem is this - when I try to answer blogs on line - it looks like I am writing in the comments. When I go and check it on line it hasn't written it down.
I always have weird issues.
Love, sandie

Great to read and see your workarounds, Sandra. I too have been finding a lot less neck and shoulder aches if I don't sit for hours at my desktop PC. But, I have never tried using the phone to leave any comments on blogs. Apparently it works for you.

It is good to hear that your pain is gone.

I am happy to hear your pain has gone. I would use the phone a lot more for blogging but find it painfully too small for my eyesight. I think I need a new prescription, maybe :)
