The Surgery UPDATE

10 AM, July 31, 2020. The Office Lobby.... No photos of the 55 minutes to drive 19 miles to get to the office. Picture Me, the driver with 2 hands clutched on wheel, 87 million cars, looking for an office we have never been to...

The MadSnapper, madly documenting the surgery. They let me go in with him. What a relief.

The hubby, after the surgery, I am sparing you the bloody picture I took.. Bob laid like this from 10:15 until noon.

My chair was next to the bed and I had nothing to do. I got to watch the surgery, and the good news is she only had to cut TWICE. It could have been much more. We checked out at 12 and drove the nasty 20 miles back home, the Big Dog went balistic!

had lunch, fed the dog, and left for the 55 minute trip to the Ocular surgeon. 45 minutes, I knew the way... both offices are in the same area about 2 miles apart.

Bob said over and over, I hope I don't have to wear this bandage very long.

The second surgery started at 2:50 ended at 4 pm. They let me wait in the lobby. YES there will be photos. Bob said tell them I don't understand English and you have to go with me.
NOPE. I had to wait.
I am glad I did not know before hand what they were doing. The 70 minutes was long, i was hot, stressed from 3 trips of traffic,
PLUS my bra was killing me. I DID SUFFER TO YOU KNOW
The nurse came to get me to tell me what HE CAN NOT DO!
He looked like this.

I took this when we got home, not in the office. Just so you know.
They had to do a skin graft and put meat from the other eye to fill the hole.
She explained if they did not do the transplant his eye lid would not close because the tumour took the hinge part, my word not hers, away from the right eye.
He had a horrible night. but is fine, but wait there is much more...
He MUST wear that patch until we take the long drive Tuesday morning for her to remove it.
I sent text to a few family/friends that started with this sentence.
Please gather bail money, I may need you to come get me OUT....
BUT WAIT THERE IS MUCH MORE to be continued
PS: as I sit here creating this post, i want to know why Blogger decided during this stressful time to once again CHANGE things around

Hello, Sandra

Sending prayers for Bob and you. I know you are a wreck. I can see Bob has his fist pretty tight, I hope all went well and the surgery is a success. I wish Bob a quick recovery. I heard other bloggers complaining, I am still using the old blogger. Take care and stay safe.

Anytime you or a loved one has surgery it's a stressful time, Sandra, and glad to know that Bob and you are doing well after this experience. Hope the next appointment goes well. Thanks for no bloody images. And, I agree with you on the bra removal, me too. The new blogger interface is not user friendly so I reverted after having problems.

Oh wow. I had to per last night around midnight & opened your blog (after I peed) to see if any updates. So much he's gone thru. Hope the recovery process improves & you both can get some rest.

Question: why wear a be a in the first place? (jk)

Sandra what an ordeal for Bob...and you. I know how much he enjoys his TV shows and swimming and walking. It will be a very long 4 or 5 days for both of you. Can you take BB on short walks or will you just walk him around the yard. I know for sure you need to be careful you don't fall etc while out and about with him since you are the last Woman Standing there in the house.
I send you both lots of hugs and prayers for healing and patience.

Prayers for Bob that has to be so hard.
I kept wondering why different eyes were bandaged.
Now I know he had to have both eyes worked on.
I am just glad they got it ALL out.
Now to recover!

You poor souls! Ya, it does look like Bob's fist is clenched. What cracks me up is that top photo on the left. I can't tell for sure, but it's like he's looking at that gosh-awful picture and thinking, "What in the Sam Hill is THAT?"
So happy to realize the doc got everything, but sure hate the after-effects. Hurry up Wednesday!

What an ordeal! I hope Bob will be more comfortable today. And I'm glad you had something to do and got to document so much of what was going on. Of course, there's no way to document 55 minutes to drive 19 miles. I know how stressful that can be and with surgery coming up, you don't want to be late and all that.

So I hope that both you and Bob can find a way to get some rest today. And few things are better that being greeted by an over excited, over happy dog!

Crikey - this is increasing Bob's pirateness, you know. Will that knowledge help him accept it a little better??? Be safe on those roads. YAM xx

Sorry about the 87 million cars. Oh, what an ordeal. Maybe you can arrange to have Monday excised from the week so that Tuesday comes sooner. Meanwhile, to bra or not to bra, that is the question. Hope you both have as restful and pleasant weekend as you can.

Oh dear what an ordeal - for you as well as for Bob. I hope he can manage to keep calm and be a patient patient over the weekend and until Tuesday... Thinking of you!

You have done well, Pilgrim! Way out of your comfort zone but you DID it! And it’s a relief to have this DONE! Internet is sketchy here at the ranch so I missed your post about the impending surgery. However, I pray for you and Bob every morning. I love you both and so relieved this is over except for it’s not over until the bandage comes off!
Regarding bras.....I have a bra that’s for dressing up. Then I have several for everyday wear. Then there’s a few sports bras for when I can’t handle real ones. I even double up and wear two sports bras at a time to make it more comfortable. You know what our problem is? We have ‘boobyitis!’
I don’t think there’s a cure for it either and I have suffered with this for years!!

I am so glad that the surgery is over and your pressure driving are finished too.
Hope tonight's sleep will be better and I do have bail money ready if you need it...
On another note..I have chosen to stay on the old blogger so I hope it won't mess up my posts.
If it ain't broke, why fix it????
Makes me crazy
On my way to my care-giving gig and it's another hot one today..98F. Hope we can be outside for a bit before it gets too hot.
Praying for you two.

That was such a busy day for you. I'm glad it all went well and praying his eye will heal quickly. That is a long time to wear the bandage but it is for his safety and for the eye. Hope all goes well on Tuesday.

Get out your pen and pad, I have many questions. How did B.B. do with going potty while you were gone? Did he knock Bob over when you came home? I see his hands balled up into fists, he must have been so tense! So now he must have sore muscles as well. Phil is unable to shut his eye all the way, so that makes it too dry in bed. We have to use drops every night. I have a list of the ones the surgeon told us to use, that have no preservatives and they waned us to use. Let me know if you should need it. You will sure have your hands full. What has blogger done now, and why? I have not tried the new one yet, but I know my time is coming.

What a horrible day for both of you. He looks incrdibly uncomfortable on that table he's laying on. I don't think I could have sat in there while they were doing the surgery. I probably would have passed out.

Oh wow!!! Sending prayers for speedy healing for Bob and for bail money for you if you need it ;) All joking aside that's a dreadful thing you had to go through, and the stress level must have been through the roof, not to mention how painful it must be. Sending a big hug to you and to Bob. What does BB think of all of this?
