Backyard on Nature friday

Weed on fence

Pod on Fish Tail Palm

the crotch of the avocado tree.
the little devils continue to knock them down, I place them in this perfect holder and they eat them.
They eat many per day,
Makes me wonder if they get an upset tummy like dogs do if they eat them...
We are pretty sure the tiny paw prints are from possums helping the squirrels to empty the tree.

I especially love that first picture. It's so artistically composed.

I was in shock once when I saw a squirrel eat a mushroom. And now, look at this...avocado eaters too maybe?! That palm is extraordinary.

Hello,

Nature is grand. I love the fishtail palm and the pretty flower.
I would think the critters would not eat something that makes them sick. They must be ok to eat. Take care, enjoy your day! Have a happy weekend!

I love the pretty weed and the palm pod, that's a cool looking one. At first I thought the avocado was an iguana lol.

I love that Fish Tail Pod...it is so cool. I bet the squirrels do not get sick or they would not keep eating them. Maybe they only bother some dogs. OUr last two dogs, which is funny it was both of them, could not have so much as a taste of chinese food...it would come right back up. But Otto can eat it and he never has any reaction. I am not sure about Delta or Copper.

You have such interesting things happening in your garden. It's a lot of fun to learn about the things that grow there and what can happen to them. Visitors, thieves, and so on.

Enjoyed your pictures today. Some animals are pretty smart so hopefully, since they keep eating them, I would assume it doesn't bother their stomachs.

I love that first photo so much! Not only my favorite on the color wheel, but it looks more like a hibiscus than a weed. Come to think of it, there's lots of weeds I prefer to flowers. Just yesterday, I was taking a close-up of one next to the drain pipe ... Tom wasn't so impressed, but I'm going to share it on here one of these days.

NOT a weed! It is a WILDFLOWER, tiny & exquisite. That big brown thang is a POD!!!! Jeepers, it is like an alien pod from outer space! HUGEORMOUS! Your avacodo holder is perfect. I would be so tickled if we had something like this, and could watch the wildlife eating it.

That "weed" is so pretty and I like the bug eaten leaf beside it. Added character!
The fish tail pod is amazing. Sure doesn't look like anything in my yard.
I love the avocado holder too. How convenient..(:0)

I would LOVE to have my own avocado tree! I would fight the critters for them! Kind of like I have to fight for our pecans!

Interesting activities around your place.

Florida is so similar to Queensland (Except for population and politics). We have possums eating avocados and paw paws and papayas.Love the palm opening up.

I love avocados. I think I would be in a competition with the squirrels for them, and the squirrels would probably win. Beautiful flowers and interesting palm.
