In Line For Covid Vaccine appt

Above is the full screen, I tried to take a photo and with the new computer the cell will not take it without lines. At the bottom is one you can read if so inclined. a print screen that I saved and edited.

(I put this in because I am wondering what kind of cancer causing lights are flashing in my face that the camera can see but I can't)
My POINT IS
We have been unable to acquire an appointment for the Covid-19 Vaccine.
We are on a lottery waiting list, every 5 days, our county chooses lottery style from the list, 500 appts. We have been waiting for a call for 6 weeks.

Publix has the vaccine by appointment only. ONLY In 10 of our counties.
The appointments come available, we get and email and they give the starting time, and all 22 million 65 and over goes on line to get and appointment.
We are in line with all 10 counties, not just ours.

Our county has not been on the list until this week

Today at 7 I was waiting and clicked on the LINK
to find this..

The blue button Is ME waiting in LINE

Please Hold, which I did for 39 minutes without getting through.

Each county says 100 % when the waiting starts, as the appts are filled, it keeps a running count of what is left in each county.
MY county went down to 49 % left in 25 minutes at 39 minutes said FULLY Booked.
Try again on Friday at 7 AM
Some of the counties were fully booked in 20 minutes.

Here is my rant, well a small part of my rant.

We MUST stare at the WAITING BUTTON, every 60 seconds it refreshes.

When/IF  the BOOK NOW button lights up you have 60 seconds to tap it.

Our county is way at the bottom, if I wanted to see it I had to scroll.
As soon as the red counter turned to 60 second count down, I madly scrolled down and up

I played the count down game because I was bored to tears.
I felt like it was New Years and I Actually said the last 10 numbers out loud.
watching that **%$# button.
(I yelled to Bob to bring me a cup of coffee, he did, then I thought half way throuh it, Idiot, if you have to go potty you will miss the button)

scroll fast, scroll back up.

Could do nothing else, could not take my eye from that button.

do you know how long 39 minutes feels when staring at a button?

You would think in these days and times of so many
SMART PEOPLE with Smart TV and Smart Phone and SMART computers
Someone could find a way to line us up and shoot us in the arm. 😎😎😎😎

When I was a child we got polio shots in our arms, as we stood in line, and the shot us with a gun and the second booster was eat a sugar cube and we could go to any fire stations and eat one,

I do solemnly swear I will not rant on Friday when I don't get through.

This is AWFUL!! And you are so right about in these modern times, why can't they arrange it better? So will you have to do this every day? Keep me posted!

I wonder they don't have a system on sms lime our 'leave the house' permits here in Greece. I guess not everyone in the target group has a smart phone. Having said that, are vaccines only for people with computers?

it's chaos everywhere... we get not even a test...

What complete madness. That is just an insane system. I've heard of other people who had absolutely no issues getting appointments. I guess it just all depends on what state you're in and who's running the show.

That’s terrible, a dreadful way to run things. I would be ranting too.

That is beyond ridiculous - does this mean you are competing with people of all ages? Instead of the state prioritising by age group - in which case you would definitely have been done by now. Rant away, lady!!! YAM xx

It is far from my turn for the vaccination ... it is chaos everywhere!

I called to get ours...till I could get them together...I font know if Roger could keep it in his mind what he was there for. I know we would have dealt with it some way if I could not have called, but I would have been ranting like crazy if I could not. Waiting like deed you are having to woukd drive me madder than I already am.

Ridiculous! I don't know who conceptualized the idea of a lottery ... that just doesn't sound fair. When I talked to Debbie she related having both her tablets and desktop AND phone engaged at the same time to try and secure a spot.
When something DOES open up, will you be able to book for both of you and the same time?

Just another example of what an idiot our governor is! It is absolutely ridiculous that people over 65 have to go through that.

The clown who's running this show should be voted out of office. Or something.

The whole thing is Ridiculous!! If you look up on the internet - health department or places to get the shot - can you find more - that doesn't sound right to me. We had to go to another county 45 minutes from here - but we did get our second one yesterday. GOOD LUCK!

I feel your pain, anxiety and impatients.
As soon as Bryan's age group (the 1b) became eligible I started trying to find an appt. for him. It took 2 1/2 Days. The site was open 8am-5pm. Each hour for 2 1/2 days I went to the sight. After 24 hours (2 1/2 days) I finally got him an appt. Good luck.

The lines you see in your photo is your computer screen doing it refresh rate. It does the same thing on a TV. Our eyes don't pick up on it but a camera will.
To get a picture of a computer screen or TV without the lines, you need to adjust the shutter speed on your camera. Roughly set your camera to 1/125 or 1/250 depending on your screen. Give it a try and show us what you learn.
I haven't tried it yet.
Good Luck getting your arm poked. 🥼

Hope you have better luck tomorrow. I know when our county had 10,000 spots and they were gone in 35 minutes. My brother called his Walgreens yesterday and has an appointment on Saturday. We are grateful that Adam's hospital offered the shots to parents 65+. We got them on Tuesday and our second shot is already scheduled. I will be praying for you to get in soon.

That doesn’t sound like fun. I still don't even have a chance to get my vaccination. I guess I'm not old enough or sick enough, so I wait.

That is beyond TERRIBLE. It shouldn't have to be that way. Mom and Dad are so very thankful they have gotten one vaccine and are scheduled for #2 in two weeks. It was a very smooth process. Other parts of the country could learn a lot from whoever set up ours. We do hope you get through on Friday.

There's little more to add here, Sandra, because most others have said it already and I agree. If some states can do this right and ot have such chaos, why can't others? Have you considered relocating to Nh temporarily?

I remember getting shots at school, and I also remember the sugar cube. Then, when swine flu blew up, I remember going to a church and getting in a long line. Nurses were giving the swine flu vaccination with one of those shotguns. I think there has got to be a better way to do this.

No surprise in what is going on. The more the devices are smart the stupider the real people who cannot manage these days.
In our country our order delivery from theEU had to be halted so no vaccines were available. Now new ones are arriving and the system for who gets them keeps changing and it is so frustrating. What is really odd is we all have a health card so they have us in a computer system. One would think they could devise finding us by our birthday which informs them of our age and contact us as they would for any other reason. They have our mailing address and these days phone number and emails. But that is too logical to use. Instead they keep coming up with apps . And they tell us where huge centers will be set up but then days later they change it.
Right now hubby being 81 may try for an appt on March 15 per new app. April 15 those 75 and up may apply. May 15 those 70 and up may apply and possibly handicapped like Buddy who is very high risk and ought to be with 80 + group. Seems seniors not in nursing home are not as valued. And when I listen to German news or French or UK all are just messing around.
I recall polio days and smallpox and it was very efficiently done through schools and churches and families were allowed to do it together. We’re were issued our vaccine on a small yellow card we were expected to keep as proof when needed.
Sad how a whole world can get so messed up except Israel.

Hello,
What a crazy way to give out appt's. They should let everyone sign up, first come first served. I am last on the lists here, it will be awhile before I can get a shot.
Take care, stay well.
