Village of the Arts 2021

Sunday, January 31, 2021 we took Beau for his first ride to the Village of the Arts. You may remember 2019 Village of the Arts that we took riding Big Boy. They are sprucing things up, getting ready to make a comeback after being shut down for the Covid-19 Lock down of 2020.

This is an area of town that allows artist to live and work in their homes and to do pretty much what they want to in The Village.   If you are interested in the history of the Village, it is HERE

We were there at 7:30 am, no sunlight yet. They are colorful enough all by themselves.

The above house has been painted at least 4 times, I have photos over the years.

What a great place (i read the 'about us' thing). I used to live in Christiania in Copenhagen which started in a similar way. It's a fab idea and development but such places sometimes become victims of their own success becoming too expensive for new artists to move in, and less of a community to live in as the crowds are drawn in. I hope they contine to work hard on the ethos that created their vision in the first place.

I always love it when you go to the Village Of The Arts!! I like enlarging them and looking at everything! My favorites are the first one, and the second one with the two story balconies. The first picture, what is that red object in the back left of the house? It looks like either two people, or mannequins.

They resemble the houses in the Curacao area, so bright and painted in pastel colors! Hugs!

I love that pink fence and the red door (House #1) ... but could happily sit on that porch (#3) all the live-long day. These remind me of Nassau and the Virgin Islands. Come to think of it, (those) residents always seemed to be joy-full -- smiling and singing.

What a great community to have in your town. There was one in Los Angeles, close by where we lived too. The houses are fabulous, dressed up in their bold colors. I like them all, and love the deep blue one. I would hang out there a lot, if I lived in your town.

I like lots of color, but these are a bit too much for me.In some ways they are cute, as long as I don’t have to live in them.
