Day 28 of Quest to Pre-Pandemic Weight

Cherries, $8.25 for bag. YOWSA

I started my quest to lose Pandemic Weight Gain, on June 1, 2021 today is Day 28,
7 lbs down, 3 to go!

If I typed here what  I am thinking you would be reading till the cows come home!
Now my Quest is to tell you the story in condensed form
HA HA HA

First important change
MOVE MORE, MOVE MORE.
Get UP!
Any and All Movement Counts
My program is.......
Pool exercise, legs, arms, back,, 20 minutes 5 days a week,
Recumbent Bike, 3 days a week,
Walk Beau Every Day
Floor exercise, on bed, no floors for me, can't get up.
Squats, 20 per day, 5 days a week.

Dance to YouTube, March, Side Step, Wave Arms, Pump Arms.
I don't do all of this every day, it needs to be changed up. Doing the same exact thing, the body adjusts to it.
I do any or all of above, rotating days, to a total of 1 hour or MORE.

Housework counts!
If you get HOT doing housework that is exercise

Veggies, fruits, Protein, Fat, good carbs.
Eat Breakfast.
Calories Counted and Bite it, Write it!

Tomato's $8.00 Banana 19 cents for one. I can't eat them and they are my favorite food, this one for bob.

I don't eat sugar, and to jump start my weight loss, I decided to give up  bread until I was back where I was in March of 2020. along the way, a blog friend introduced me to Gluten free flour.

Tapioca flour is my choice, and I am about to try coconut flour.

By accident, I found out my stomach problems that I thought was IBS, are caused by
White Flour. By the end of the first week of NO Bread, my bloated stomach was no more.
My stomach pains in early AM were gone. Also gone early AM diarrheas' gone .
On day 24, we had Spaghettis Sauce on French Style Green Beans, in stead of Spaghettis noodles.
Day 25, I decided to have a plate of  REAL Spaghettis and the next morning, guess what was back?
White flour bloat, pain and a few trips to the potty.
WOW! I am now gluten Free and feeling like a new person.

My Quest to lose weight, and what I have learned along the weigh and how it is changing my life..
But Weight, there is MORE
to be continued

you are fabulous!!!!! the prices for fruits are currently the same they have at chanel's.. they aid it's because of the season... yes, sure... it's summer where nothing grows LOL

Congratulations - and you are making me feel very lazy and unmotivated now - how to do you do all that in your heat? You have scary prices for seasonal fruit! Cherries about Euro3 per kilogram (2.2lb) here. Tomatoes as low as 30 euro cents per kilo, average price is less than a Euro a kilogram (cherry tomatoes are a bit more expensive). I had better go and consider some Pilates mat exercises - Tigger is too wilted to supervise (maybe that's why I have been lazy - no slave driver to urge me on).

Hello,

You do a lot of exercising! That is good!
The flour is a problem for me too.
They do sell gluten free pasta in the stores.
The cherries are so expensive, but yummy.
Have a great day and a happy new week!

You are very dedicated to this. That's my whole problem, I can't get dedicated to losing the weight. I want to lose it but I can't stick with anything. The other thing is the cost of healthy food. Why is it so expensive

I'm pretty sure there is a pasta out there that your stomach can handle; shop around!! You go girl!!!

I like to spiralize zucchini into 'noodles' - yum. If you don't have a spiralizer, just use the veg peeler and keep going right down to nothing left! That'll give linguini rather than spaghetti shape, but still good, right?

Yeah, it's the exercise bit I fail on. Still only managing about five minutes a day on the pedals - and walking around the Hutch doesn't exactly raise the heart rate! Could to better. YAM xx

Yay Sandra I'm very proud of you. One question do you have to cook separate for Bob or will he eat what you eat?

You are doing such a great job, I'm so proud of you! It took me 6 months but I'm finally down a pound below my pre-pandemic weight. Go us! :)

YIPPEE for you!!! That's interesting about doing the same exercise; that the body adjusts to it. Hmmmm. Bite it/write it's become my new mantra, too.

Guess what? Yesterday morning I was down exactly 7 lbs., too. This morning, however, an extra 6oz. snuck in somewhere. (I suspect sodium.) I'm mentally composing a post like yours later this week. Then, come July 1 I'm starting another challenge 60 days to lose another 6. haven't been at 143 since 2010 and Tom thinks I'm nuts, but he's being supportive.

I'm proud of you too! It's so hard when you only need to lose a few pounds. Your body wants to hang on to them for hard times! lol Making the changes in your diet and being more active at the same time is the answer though. You need to do both to lose weight. And hopefully eating things that tastes good AND enjoying life! Hugs!

Wow the flour is really a great discovery. I Utrecht to only use rye as wheat also gives me trouble.
Yes moving our bodies is key even to brain health. Tomatoes cooled with onions and string beans are a great tasing dish. Very verities...Today I shall see if I can dictate a blog post on my new laptop. I gather you are enjoying yours.

Wow...you are doing fantastic!!
I love your drive and "stick to it-ness"
The Move part of it is really important and figuring out your triggers is a huge deal. Good for you.
Down a bit today with 4 more to go to my next goal.
$8.00 for cherries..oh my that's highway robbery!!!
I'll pass on those.

I'm not trying to lose weight, rather find better ways for my digestive system to be happy. Partially using Low-Fodmap (plus taking out the things I know disrupt the system) my GP said one of things that get's us is "fretting about what isn't going well" and if like you we rotate things, it's more interesting or we are more keen to continue.

I love your idea of rotation - which I think applies to all parts of our life, not just the exercise. One of the things I only do weekly is the "scales" as a daily weigh in, doesn't truly show anything other than set you fretting if it's not going well...

Keep it up. You are doing so well.

You are also boosting your immune system. Some studies say people who exercise regularly (and no doubt eat healthy food) are much less apt to get serious cases of Covid. Yes, vaccines are great and I'm relieved I got mine, but I'm also doing what I can in addition.

I'm so glad that is all working out for you. Mark needs to get away from white flour. He's had IBS his whole life. I stay away from pasta but Mark loves that too! Way to go on the weight you have lost.
