The Tree, the Floater & The Dog Food "SNAFFU'"

On Nov. 19th, logging on to The Big A, I ordered Dog Food, Pool Floater and THE Christmas tree.

I chose the climate saving, postage saving, recycle saving delivery of Nov 24th for all 3 to be delivered to me at the same time.

Delivery choices were
Dog food same day,
 Floater Next day,
THE tree 2 days.

All Items were In Stock at Rubonia which is 30 miles from me.

Delivery choices said choose The Wed Delivery for all 3 items, and Amazon will add $1.50 cents credit to your account.

All 3 items IN MY HOUSE on Wed the 24th instead of coming on 3 different days.

To do my part in saving our Climate, I chose the Wed Delivery.

I went to bed Tuesday night dreaming of Christmas trees here next day,
even though the last email said your order will be delivered by 10 pm.

I ranted that I don't stay up that late and someone might steal it, on an on
I rose from the bed Thanksgiving Day and there was NOTHING on the porch.

Clicking On my Orders I found Sorry, Your Package is Delayed.
NOW expected by Nov 25th to 27th.
By UPS, not Amazon...
the 25th was Thanksgiving Holiday!

I may have ranted loudly, words like, 30 miles, on Amazon Truck, 40 minute drive.
Why UPS?
How can this happen?
Above graph is the way of it all.

Dog food from Sacremento CA, only 2948 miles from us.

Floater and the Tree coming from Charleston TN, only 698 miles from us.

Ordered on the 19th, appeared after dark on Nov 26.

TWO DELIVERIES, ONE AT 6 PM OTHER AT 7:30 PM
NO SAVINGS AT ALL and I could have had all of it in 2 days on the 20th

Pardon This RANT about the Big A and its Now Nutso Ways of doing business AFTER they have made themselves indispensable in my life.

Coming soon! Why THE Tree to be continued

This shipping invoice looks like a joke! Well, since there was such a mixup, you were lucky to get them at all! But now I can't wait to hear and see all about the tree!! The last one you bought seems to be the Charlie Brown one.

And don't these delivery outfits think we all just sit at home like battery hens waiting to be fed our consumer items. We never go out, we never sleep, robotically we just click and wait, and wait, and wait.... Frustrating isn't it?

Sacramento?!?!?!?!!?!?!? Ye gods and little fishes!!

Shipping is a real mess now, but they've been predicting it. We've had a number of incidents like this...it's the new normal for a while. 🙁

Yep ...has happened here too. Now hear this. One order was in San Antonio, and the tracking said it was shipped to Atlanta, then Dallas then Corpus. San Antonio's a mere 2 hour drive from us!!!

I have had this happen too, I just end up picking the first date available.
I have seen Amazon turn over their deliveries to USPS, not sure which one is worse. I hope you receive all your items. Take care, enjoy your day!

Geeze. I'd love to know the thought-processes (not) behind this randomness. UPS has been doing all our Amazon deliveries for a couple years now. For the most part, their drivers get the addresses right -- often, with a smile on their faces. (Unlike FedEx or the USPS, but I'd better not go there.)

One thing has become crystal clear over the last nearly 2 years...everything is slower, cost more and sometimes never shows up. Good thing you order early

And it's only going to get crazier in the weeks to come! But I hope everything comes safe and sound!

I have been finding the same thing on Amazon - but you explained it so well. I am addicted myself too.

It has gotten till I am more surprised if it comes the day they say, than at a later date. I could rant right along with you. Though I bet if you had chose the two day delivery it would have been the same thing.

I've never seen an Amazon delivery truck. We're too small a place for them. I had a dog food snafu too, but found out Samson could eat Faith's food and not get sick. Because I have a PO Box now, I pick up everything at the post office. Which saves our road from big trucks coming through after a rain, except now, of course, it never rains.

Welcome to craziness...we find the same thing when sending out the items we have sold on eBay..we track them to see them hopefully arrive at their destination..
Sometimes they practically go around the world and back again before getting where they are suppose to go. I feel your pain.
Since we only live 35 miles from Sacramento we could have "probably" got it to you faster..haha..not really but it sure is crazy.

Oh dear, what a mess. When I ordered my new Kindle from the Swedish big A there was a confusing series of instructions vs delivery tracking messages as well, which I didn't really see the point of. (But in the end my three items - ordered together but for some reason dispatched separately - all arrived at the same time and as promised anyway.)

How annoying!!! Mom knows now that if an Amazon delivery says anything after 8 p.m., it is not going to arrive that day. We order our dog food from Chewy, sometimes it arrives the very day after we order, but we have a distribution center pretty close to us. Being in Florida, we would think you might get it pretty quickly too. We find the two companies prices to be almost identical.

I haven't ordered anything from the Big A since they cancelled my order with no explanation. They've made me mad and I have no faith in them any more.
Sorry they did that to you. They seem to be going down hill.

Some their shipping ways are not easy to understand.

Goodness, that must have been frustrating!

Heaps of craziness downunder in New Zealand - online delays from all over the place. And messages with where the "package is" - of course I don't get things from Amazon (I don't think we would see anything much before 2022, right now).

apparently NZers have gone crazy on online shopping during this lockdown, and the couriers are in strife both from no drivers and no vehicles. Yesterday my courier came in a City Hop vehicle which must be costing some other business some mega$.

I find them changing dates all of the time. I do choose a day with fewer packages from time to time. I use the money to buy a song. We certainly can't live without them. My gosh, Mark had me order 4 things the last few days. All of Amber and Dylan's Christmas gifts were ordered through them and shipped to their house. (No tax in Montana) Yes they do deliver late and I have asked the to ring the doorbell but most of the time they don't. So I don't give them a compliment unless they ring the bell.
