Since Bob has returned to swimming at the YMCA, each morning he leaves at 4:45 and comes home at 6:05.
I am All Alone and Loving It! for 80 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I want him to come home, I do not want to live alone, but I do Love Alone Time.
The 65 inch TV is MINE! I can turn it off for 80 minutes of no TV talking TV OR I can watch the TV shows or movies that He refuses to watch.
this week I watched the above stars, all of whom I really like. And now lets talk about Booms and Zooms and Fireballs, explosions.
all the special effects that I LOVE.
Can you guess which 1996 movie this is?
Do you watch Sci-Fi? what is your favorite?
Next I am going to watch Tom Selleck in The Runaway, about Robots.

Science fiction movies, yes, I like them. Some faves are, well strangely I cannot think of the movies. But there are plenty of regular shows I love. All the Star Treks, Twilight zone, Outer Limits, Lost In space, Doctor Who...
we are more with real crime shows... the pups sleep in within minutes with the monotone reporting... our favorite show is snapped and mark wonders why LOL
We laughed our way through Independence Day when we first saw it (and still do) - it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek was it not? If not, then accidentally comedic and enjoyable enough to rewatch a few times over the years since.
What have you done to your comments? It no longer opens on a separate screen. xxx Mr T and F
Not a big fan of sci-fi. I am more of a mystery/crime show person. I do know awesome it is to get that alone time though.
Hi Sandra,:=) I think most people like to have a little alone time, at least the people I knew do. Sharing is great, but there comes a time when we appreciate being able to do the things we really like to do without interruptions. I am a film buff, so spend a lot of my time watching films. I like a well paced drama with good dialogue, a murder mystery, a thriller that holds you in suspense, and historical movies. I loved the Bridget Jones series of movies for light entertainment, and have seen them several times. I'm the only one in my family who is not keen on science fiction.
I have seen Independence Day. And, now you know one the reasons I go birding!! 3+ hours of alone time.
Hello,
I like some of the Sci-fi movies. I have seen Independence Day a long time ago, I should watch it again. My alone time is when I am reading and my hubby is watching TV. Take care, enjoy your day!
I am the only one in the family that is not a fan of sci-fi...and I did used to watch star wars, etc. I am more of a murder mystery to ed of person. Or situation comedy...
I'm embarrassed. Ashamed. Humiliated.
Not only couldn't I guess that movie, I only recognized 3 of your fav actors.
To answer your question, I suppose my preference leans to thrillers or comedies. The caveat, it has to be well-written and a FUNNY comedy -- unlike anything I've seen in the last decade.
PS - Off to Birmingham again. Tom has tests today and a heart cath tomorrow. I'll catch up as best my fat fingers will allow!
I'm not a sci-fi fan or horror fan, Sandra, but do enjoy a good drama, mystery and always a romantic comedy. The films you mentioned would not me on my "to watch" list but having the time to enjoy them would be great. I can understand exactly how you feel because it's the same here.
We love the old movies and watch about an hour of a movie in the evenings. That's it for our tv viewing though. We check the weather channel now and then but our tv stays off most of the time. Enjoy your day!
I know EXACTLY what you feel!
You have an INDEPENDENCE hour! lol
I'm not really a Sci-Fi lover but I did enjoy Independence Day. Now that being said I'll watch anything that has Tom Selleck

Blade Runner... the original The Day The Earth Stood Still (though Keanu's version was watchable enough)... The Last Starfighter... oh the list is long! YAM xx
Oh we LOVE Sci Fi around here! Independence Day is a great movie...but, like Yamini, Blade Runner(the original with Harrison Ford) is one of my many favorites!
Without some alone time, it's bonkers time for me. I think it's the same with Himself. When he's home, it's constant interruptions: where's the--? what did you do with the ---? when will---? etc etc SCREECH!
We all need Alone Time and Quiet Time and our Own Selfish Pleasures Time!!!!!
Yay that Bob has gone back to the gym..good for his body and his persona too.
I'm right there with you in that I don't want to be alone without Dave but a reprieve now and then is just fine.
Sue
Sounds good for both of you, Bob getting back to swimming, and you getting some alone time :)
Out of those actors (or whatever they are) the only one i recognize is Will Smith...
Sci-Fi is not among my favourite genres, nor Booms and explosions. Far too much of that already in the daily news...
Good viewing! I love Sci-Fi, have done since I was a kid. I started off with Dr. Who way, way back when it first started and is so campy and cheesy, but still love the reruns, and there was a lot of oldies on our TV like Flash Gordon. I remember the Star Man movie (with Jeff Bridges),that was a big favorite, and recently I am enjoying Picard (2nd season), and I am also watching the new Star Trek series, so I guess I enjoy sci-fi, lol!
I absolutely love Independence Day. So glad you watched it. The other movie I don't remember at all. (I looked it up) I'm glad you get that time alone.
Recognize that movie from the picture~. I love my alone time, too. Depending on the day I have a lot of it or none at all!
I hope you have a wonderful night! xo Diana
I'm happy for you both! Andy and I have a lot of parallel play, each of us doing our own thing. It's important.
I remember asking a married couple of mine - "since you've both locked down via the gov't at home...it must be great to have someone else to talk with" - it appeared that all was not great in the home, too much "in each others space" ... so I can understand your 80 minutes of bliss!
