The hole in the rotted fence day after |
Ian kicked about 5 sections of fence, making this hole and leaning the rest on the neighbor's new fence.
no Harm to that fence!
The large banyan that went down, was the same gust that put the hole here.
This means it could have been so much worse.
All the trees, all the fence and he houses withstood that gust, but the big tree did not.
The problem left for us was Beaus Safety!
The first two days after Ian we had to watch him and guard the hole, which meant he had to stay in the house while we did clean up.
On the third day the neighbors across the street dragged
a gate out to the curb. They lost the 3 trees and light pole and their entire fence.
Ancient Snapper said to Ancient Bob,
LOOK! the plug for the hole in the fence is at the curb!
Hurry! before someone else takes it.
I was sure there was a long line of other homeowners waiting for a rotted gate!
Two ancients staggered across the street, with ancient Bob declaring it would not work.
We each lifted an end, there may have been WORDS between the two of us, as to whehter
we would carry it flat on end, drag it behind, carry it sideways.
Behold, with only a few HBO words and loud shouting, the hole was plugged and
Beau Was Safe!
30 days later, it still looks like this.
We DO have a plan! Rest is Required!
Also required is much prodding of the Ancient Man before we tackle the project!
The fence is UGLY, but Beau can't get out. |

It fits there perfectly, and looks nice and sturdy!! Good for you for finding it!
Good for you! 👍
no matter how it looks, the main thing is, no one can escape... like alcatraz, it hasn't to be beautiful... just prison-break -proof :o)
The most important part is that Beau can't get through the hole and he's safe. Therefor, this was the perfect solution.
Where there’s a will there’s a way!
Good to see you can find a little humour after that stressful time
Once those nearby plants start shooting you won’t even know it’s there

This tale is perfect for FFF at Halloween!!! I am sorry you had to go through that - but golly, it has provided you with a great little supply of tales to tell, and as you quite rightly say, sometimes the facts are as weird as any fiction 😃 YAM xx
Hello,
Keeping Beau safe in the yard is the most important thing, I am glad you found a solution to plugging the hole. Take care, enjoy your day!
It serves it purpose and that is what counts keeping our handsome Beau safe. My B has to regroup after a major project too. After all that is what retirement is about doing things at your own pace

You are such an entertaining storyteller!
That's a sure Godsend solution; I'm so glad you spied it when you did and Beau's safe once more.
PS - You know, if the Plan doesn't come to fruition, suppose Dan might come down and paint something entertaining on it?
I like how you told us about the reality of your situation and so glad that you were able to drag that fencing that someone across the way didn't want to plug up the gap in the fence so that Beau is safe. Glad he can go out and not stay indoors. As they say - one person's trash is another person's treasure. Great true story.
What a perfect solution..maybe it's not the most beautiful thing but I don't think Beau minds it at all.
Safety first..
What a team you two are...HBO words and all, haha
Care day with Lynne in a few then Celebrate Recovery dessert..Tomorrow we are going to a potluck dinner party..should be fun
Sunday Church and an afternoon of eBay stuff and so the week rolls on and on and on...

Looks to me like that old gate matches the old fence rather perfectly! ;)
Good thinking!!!
That was a nice blessing that you noticed them put that at the curb. Glad Beau is safe.
Hurray!!! Happy for you and Bob and Beau.
First off my apologies for not checking in on you during the hurricane. I have a friend who lives in Homosassa and always check on her but somehow forgot that you also live in Florida. So glad that you survived relatively unscathed. Good use of the boards etc...to block up the hole to keep Beau safe until further repairs can be done.
