I used the gate in the hole for lowlight practice with the iPhone
Above is the one I chose out of 6 photos.
Top of collage is the one at the beginning, I tapped the screen to focus light on the ferns and fronds.Bottof o collage I tapped the shadows in the middle to focus light. That left to many dark shadows. This will help when taking lowlight Christmas lights photos. Android does the same thing.

Good for you for practicing ahead of time. ❤️
the shadow makes a great art piece from the wooden fence ...

Not just the light... the compositional balance is better in the first one - and actually may be the thing that influenced your choice. More than you realise. I love that you are experimenting this way! YAM xx
Excellent. Not only do you learn new things but you share the knowledge.
Hello,
Yu are having lots of fun with the phone camera. I like the lighting and shadows in the first shot. Take care, enjoy your day!
Fantastic results
Low light and shadows are such fun photo subjects, I agree, Sandra. I smiled when you said you used the gate in the hole and wondered if you meant the hole in the gate?
What a way to have fun!
so how dark WAS it? Really dark? If so, this is very cool! and it makes sharp shadows as well. It is really like you have TWO fancy cameras!
Too cool! Again, you're turning ordinary into extraordinary!
Practice makes MS purrect!

I do love shadow pictures. All the textures show up beautifully.
Glad you are practicing and getting great results.
I'm heading to Lynne's in just a few minutes. Her long day caregiver has to go to jury and see if she is chosen. So I may be half day or maybe a 10 hour day..sigh. I can use the money but its such a long time.

I think the top one is the best one too.
I am really enjoying the shots you are taking while practicing with your new-to-you camera-phone! I can't wait to see the Christmas lights you find!
You did a great job, I love all the shadows of the leaves.
I think your limited light photos turned out great! Good job and I love that first one the best. xo Diana
All those shots send a tickling of mystery and anticipation through my brain. Or it could be amazement and envy at your technical prowess and creativity.
your knowledge and creativity amazing
I spent some time taking photos of my Christmas paintings today and it was a job. It wasn't a real sunny day and I had to change locations - first the wind was blowing limbs creating shadows and then I had a glare from another angle. I ended up on the front porch laying down aiming my phone and trying to hold my hands steady! I took them and hope they will work. Now tomorrow I need to order the Christmas cards and the canvas prints. Wish I had your patience and expertise over here!!
That's pretty awesome!
beautiful results, Sandra. keep it up! xoxox
