Oy Veh! 420.00 Dollar Week End

Before you read the oh so important info here, see if you can guess what this is a photo of.

Can you guess what the red is in the stopper?

The red in the stopper is the cover on my iPhone.
Did you guess the trap in the bottom of Bob's Bathroom sink? that is what it is. The bill came and is bad but not as bad as it could have been.   He replaced all the pipes you see here and a new stopper in the sink. Two Hundred Sixty One Dollars and 79 Cents.

The shocker was the bill came on Saturday, Saturday AM I shopped at Walmart and when I got home, this is the email that was waiting to tell me how much I spent at Walmart.  I knew what I spent because when I tapped pay now, I nearly fell over at the amount.
The two most expensive items were Dog food 30.00 and 4 light bulbs for the ceiling fan 15.00.
you do the math, with eggs at 4.96, I don't buy the 8-dollar eggs.
10 for 2 pounds ground beef, Small peanut butter for me, 5 dollars.
The thing is, I had most of what we will eat for the week, this was just.
weekly stuff, milk, eggs, cheese, bread, peppermint tea, Bob wanted an apple pie, $7 dollars.
Its cheaper to buy from the bakery than to bake one.
Apples were 8 to 10 dollars per bag, A bag had 7 apples. OY VEY!
We may have to go back to an outhouse in the back yard and no hot water in the house just to eat.
Everything I bought was FOOD, you know edible. Except the dog food/bulb.
Sunday, I spent 40 dollars on 1/2 tank of gas/fuel.

total spent on Sat/Sunday was 420 dollars... OY VEY!!!!!!

Total spent at Annual Eye Exam, Monday, 523.00. Seems my eyes changed drastically. I knew they had because I can't see the TV no matter how close or far, if I don't have on my glasses.

ooooooooooooooooooooyyyyyyy evvvvvvvvhhhhhhhhhhh

How long will I be able to pay for internet to receive alerts from the bank telling me how much came out of my account????

Yikes!!! And why have your eyes gotten worse? If you join Costco for around $50.00, you can save a huge bundle on your glasses. Mine used to cost over three hundred dollars, not I can get frames there for around fifty and lenses for not much more.

so sorry for the eye-news... hugs and all the best to you. we had the same feeling as we bought food yesterday. I was at the short date aisle, where they have the reduced stuff... I felt bad, but ... well.... sigh....

Ugh! Feel for you with all that. My eyes are getting worse, time to go in and get them checked.

I'm finding it scary how expensive everything is getting. There are things that I no longer buy because they've gotten too expensive.
I need new glasses. I'm way over due for an exam.

Hello,
My eyes change every time I go for an exam. I have been buying the cheaper glasses at America's Best. My medical insurance pays for the eye exam. I am not spending $523.00 on glasses. The plumbing bill seems reasonable to me. Our Walmart bill goes up every week we shop there. Take care, have a happy day!

Costs are going up everywhere, so you are not alone in feeling the pinch, Sandra. The only baking I did recently was at Christmas and then only cookies and eggs were slightly less costly then. Hope you see your eye doctor for the vision issue.

Everything is a crunch on the budget these days!! And instead of helping the citizens of America, the POTUS sends money to Ukraine!!! 😞

Hello Sandra :=) I'm so sorry your eyesight have deteriorated so much. I'm still waiting to have the cataract surgery. I guessed it was a sink plug. I'm having problems with the electricity and have no hot water in the kitchen or my bedroom. It's been over a week and the regular electrician came but said he could not find the fault.I'm still waiting for one to come from Oporto. It's miserable, and the boiling water from the kettle is never enough. It is going to cost an arm and a leg, to get it fixed, but in this case I don't mind, I have had my fill of icy cold water!!:=(

ooohh - my humans try to do repairs themselves but the 'gearbox' on our door locking system died recently (door still locked but the key had to turn around about 87 times) and they couldn't fix it, so had to get a 'man' and that cost 6 months of catfood to get repaired. (F said don't worry she will still find money for catfood). Eye exam!- wow that stings though.

Oh vey, indeedie! Pretty soon it's going to be less expensive to feed our pets human food.
Not that I'm an expert, but that plumbing bill doesn't sound so awful, considering all he did. It's my turn to schedule an eye exam and now I'm nervous what they'll find.

How did your phone case go down the sink?
And I am so with you on the groceries - I think each time I buy something if I REALLY NEED IT!
It's awful.
I have to say the glasses are reasonable.

This is not good news at all. I agree with you. How much longer can any of afford anything anymore. Our gas bills are now double what they were a year ago and those have always been at a good price. I haven't been shopping recently but I have heard about all the price increases. I'm not sure what any of us can do. It's a disturbing situation we are facing.

I am in sticker shock each week at the grocery store.
Prices seem to change for the worse each week.
As a friend told me, with the price of eggs the Easter eggs will only be plastic. They are too expensive to dye now a days
Hugs Cecilia

You did get off cheap with the plumber. I don't even want to tell you how much we spend for raw feeding with 4 dogs. Just think people prices for meat, veggies, eggs and fruit. For 4 dogs. Oy Vey is right! Hopefully it will pay off in not having huge vet bills. Oy vey!

the price of everything just keeps going up and up. Social Security got a big raise but so did the cost of medical insurance, totally ate up the COLA on SS. Oh well, that's life.
