About the silly pics yesterday, I went out side to take a photo of these ugly glasses and then went crazy with Insta toon app.
Questions came up about the High Cost of my new Glasses on a post last week.
In 1990 I wore reading glasses around my neck on a chain, and in 1990 suddenly I could not see well and found I needed to wear glasses during waking hours.
I have a stigmatism in my right eye and needed trifocals.
Above Ugly Glasses 1991 were fashionable then, and I got the cheapest trifocals that had lines in them. wore them for YEARS.
Hated then for years. I felt them on my face all the time.
Glass heavy, causing nose and ear pain from the weight.
In photo above you will see All Glasses I have worn since 1991.
Ather the ugly lines ugly glasses I changed to progressive lens and they aways cost more than the lens with lines.
I tried rimless and they were lighter but did not last long.
next was a frame at top rimless bottom, all of the Glass hurt my nose/ears because it got thicker each pair.
3rd row left, free glasses from Insurance, heavy glass, metal frame no cost but Medicare doesn't pay for progressive lens, have to be distance and reading WITH Lines

My sight is my most precious thing to me and comfortable comes next... IN THE DISTANT PAST, BEFORE WRINKLES, RIMLESS ALLOWED MY BEAUTIFUL EYES WITH NO WRINKLES AND MASCARA TO SHOW THROUGH. Alas! I can no longer wear mascara because my eyes burn and get red. Wrinkles are here to stay but I am COMFORTABLE.

I find as we get older, comfort matters more and more, and current fashion less and less. I have the half rim. Get mine at Costco, where they are super cheap. I have never heard of this brand! Where do you get them?
Such a similar story to mine. I ave three current pairs, one red, one blue but my got everyday are titanium lightweight glasses with a hexagonal shape so comfortable but sadly the rim colour of pale maroon is starting to wear off in patches. Not happy.
I'm glad you found some that are comfortable. That's so important. And I'm glad the insurance paid for part of it. ❤️
At this stage definitely comfort before style for me. I keep losing my glasses around the house. I have several pairs (not the prescription kind but cheepo reading ones). I am always losing them and find in the oddest places.
Hi Sandra :=) Comfort over style any day. I'm glad you found some that feel comfortable. I only have one pair, they are not rimless but fit well over my wide nose, and they don't feel heavy at all.

I have kept the same frames for decades. So definitely not fashionable, but they suit me, and the cost of lens replacement is more than enough for me to cope with. YAM xx
Comfort has become the most important feature in anything I buy these days.
The third pair down on the left looks like a pair I've had.
Comfort (especially lightness) of the glasses is so much more important then anything else.

I just got an education -- just in time for my eye exam this morning! I'm still on the side where how they look is more important -- but like everything else, that could change. Lots will depend how much out of pocket $ this will cost. Cross fingers!
It really is important to have good glasses that are comfortable to wear. And I'm so glad we don't wear eye make up any more. When I see someone with it on, I think it looks comical. Enjoy your day!
Another interesting post. I usually pick out cheap frames to keep cost down. Never thinking of comfort. I only need corrective lenses to drive tho.
100% agree about sight. Maybe the most precious of my 7 senses. Followed closely by hearing and smell. I wore contacts from about age 35 or 40. Thankfully I was able to wear them throughout my working years. Eventually due to eyes being dry both due to contacts and age. I switched to glasses. I have Progressive lens too. Mid January is always my annual eye exam. Ironically as I type Bryan just left for his annual eye exam.

I love my Silhouette glasses too. Titanium and poly also.
I would never go back to any thing else. Going to need a new pair soon but the cost is hampering me. Thank goodness for insurance. It sure helps.

Yup...wrinkles are here to stay but I am Comfortable !!!

I am glad you could have some help on the cost...mine would have been over $800 but they had a discount going on. I cannot wait to get them. I really was wanting to try on a pair of the silhouette...but the pair I tried on, of course they did not have the weight of my lenses...but I did not even hardly know I had them on. So I am hoping they do good.
Comfort is most important to me too...and I have close to the same exact, rimless glasses!
the type of lenses you like are exactly what I have worn for years. But I have never done the rimless frame. Maybe next time. First I have to figure out if and when I will have that cataract surgery
I have to go get tested with the ophthalmologist. It's been several years since I've been. Then I went and got some glasses and never used them. Mark used the distance for TV that I got. That certainly is a large sum of money to pay for glasses. Glad insurance covered part of it.
I'm saving up for a pair of new glasses! I am shocked at how expensive they are!! I wear the progressive lens too!
