we have 3 plant blooming now, all three are drought resistant. They live with the tiny bit of water I give them and have a few blooms. The bush below is hilarious to us. Libs with no leaves, a few leaves and One Branch only Covered.
I will do two other posts on the blooms. to be continued
PS while in the yard taking these photos, fussing because THEY said we would get a rainstorm and it never came. It went South and North of us. Not One Drop!
I heard what sounded like and air raid siren going off, and thought I had time traveled to WWII and we were being attacked.
I came in the house and said Bob did you hear the air raid siren? Maybe it is a tornado.
I went to the computer to check our weather and just as I pulled
up the below snip and said Bob, it is a tornado, 5 miles south of us in Sarasota,
Bob said Well look at the TV and there was a bright red warning on the screen.
We did not get rain and did not get the tornado.

Phew!!! I am super happy you did not get that tornado. Those are real pretty flowers. Thank goodness for drought-resistant plants.
Wow, only 5 miles away from you. That was a close call. It could have shared a little rain with you though.
if we could we would send you some of our rain... why we can not mix the world weather to get a thingy we all like?
That was a close call! I often wonder about those thrill seekers who go in search of Tornadoes, when I would surely run the other way. That one branch is lovely.
You get air raid warnings for tornadoes?! That's great but no much help if you don't know what the alarm is for - you weren't exactly diving for the cellar. In Greece they had a system that could send a text message to every mobile (cell) phone - and used it during COVID and for fires and floods. I have no idea how they made it limited to regions but they could do that too. The UK government are looking at trialing a similar so that they can send our warnings for flooding and civil emergencies. Fortunately tornadoes are not really a thing here. (One or two over the years have wrought havoc, but it is a rare weather bomb that can create a destructive twister in UK.) xxx Mr T

It is ironic that there are such drought conditions in FL when parts of the west coast is being battered by rain and snow storms and here on the east coast there was a nor’easter yesterday with snow and rain. Glad the tornado avoided your area as it’s not the thpe of weather needed. That purple bloom is a survivor.

The purple flower is gorgeous... my power company sends me text alerts about severe weather arriving that might affect life - but that is because I am registered as 'vulnerable' with them due to mobility issues. The general public just have to deal with whatever comes... YAM xx

There's nothing like hearing those sirens going off to strike icy fear in my heart. Shortly after we moved in that happened and I like to have a panic attack -- no-one had told me, the first Wednesday of every month the county tests the sirens.

Extreme scary weather everywhere. Too much rain some places, unbelievable snow depths in others and the terrible droughts. It is so hard to get a good rain down your way w/o their being terrible tstorms or tornado threats.

Thank God you did not get the tornado. I had no idea you were in a drought again - I kind of thought things leveled out. We have had nothing but rain this winter. YUCK. Do a rain dance there girl.
We hope you get some rain soon...but the storms need to stay far away!!
Glad you are safe and no tornado, but so sad about the drought continuing for you.
We here in No. CA are whining about all the rain and potential flooding when all the snow melts in our mountains. The prospects of that are very real. We have a break for about 4 days before the next storm wave comes through. Maybe we can get a little yard work done before it.
Ready to head out to WalMart to do our weekly shopping for Celebrate Recovery.

I didn't realize that you were that close to Sarasota. I love that area and drove up from Ft. Myers many weekends with my old roommate. She loved the area, too. John's sister was a nurse at the hospital in Sarasota(there was only one hospital back then).I hope you get some rain!!!! xo Diana
