Florida, Greenhouse Effect on Nature Friday

On March 23, Bob cut the 10 foot tall powderpuff bush top photo above, to the size you see in bottom photo. It has to be cut back each year or it would cover the whole back yard.

this is the Top of it after cutting on the day we took it down March 23

I
Top 20 days later, April 10
Fast growing isn't it.

In Florida we have the greenhouse effect year-round and plants grow like crazy even in a drought.
No measurable rain in 8 months, so  Easter Sunday I did a rain dance.

AND

WE GOT A HALF INCH OF RAIN ON EASTER SUNDAY
I do not think it matters that the weather guy said 100% chance of rain on Easter Sunday, Do you?
we did get rain but only 1/2 inch, we are happy over what we got.

TO BE CONTNUED

That's impressive growth during a drought. I'm sure your rain dance helped, and even though it didn't rain much, every little bit helps. ❤️

Hi Sandra,:=)

Thanks again for the link and great photos. I hope my bougainvillea grows back, but I don't expect it will grow as fast as your Power Puff bush, that is phenomenal growth.

Hello,
It is amazing how fast the plant grows, they are pretty blooms.
We could use some rain here, it has been very dry.
Take care, have a happy day!

Judging by what I saw on TV the rain you called for went mainly to Fort Lauderdale where the airport was flooded. When you dance, the rain gods really pay sttention!

That is sure quick growth! Glad you got some rain but maybe you should do another rain dance for more.

Wow, it does grow quickly. Mark recently cute down a lot of our bushes that just get too big during the summer. (Not as big as the bush Bob cut back)

That is incredible growth in such a short time.

I love you in your blue & yellow feathers! The bush is beautiful even without the blooms! Maybe it will rain if you kiss this cute frog...

I definitely think it was your rain dance that brought you some rain! LOL

Tenacious critters, aren't they?
I'd have loved to see you doing that rain dance; just don't let those folks in Fort Lauderdale know you're responsible. (hahaha)

Rain dances are always good. Here in CA we rec'd abundance of rain, far more than ever before. This spring there will be a burst of vegetation, some good and some not. But, this means that we will be on wildfire watch.
