My beautiful giant Elephant Ear trying to hang on with the hand watering I have done for it. Tap water keeps the roots alive but it doesn't thrive.
I even tried using the water from the rain barrel, it still created this artwork while dying.
This sad looking leaf was hanging on and then came the magic of rain
Two days of rain, and 2 days later this is how it looks. I left the dead leaves to show you the differenc.
Below is the plumbago and it thrives on any water or little water.
It has been the only surviving flowers until the rain came.
We though we had lost the hibiscus tree, but look what the rain did
I may be late visiting today, 8:15 am annual wellness visit to my doctor.

Wow! The huge dying leaf is really a work of art. Funny how so many things in nature are so much more beautiful when dying.

Looks like it's time to try a whole different plant. There must surely be local species able to cope with the vagaries of the weather.
I hope your wellness visit is over. Amazing how short those visits are. My doc only has 30 mins for them.
It is raining yet again here but THEY say this is the last day. Wish I could share with you.

Wow, what a difference! Those first images are sure a testament that beauty exists, even in old age.
Praying all goes well with the 'Wellness' exam. Whoever came up with that exercise, I wonder"? A few years ago I tried telling the scheduler, I'd just been there the month before ... that this was a waste of time, but she said it's the law. I want to know who's getting richer for this pointless exercise.
The pattern on your elephant ear is really artistic sans rain but they are glorious now with that big drink of rain water.
It sure shows how necessary water is to all our lives.

Hi Sandra, Yes rain is essential and it has been raining none stop for two days now. We were quite unprepared for such a down pour but it was needed, although not quite so much at one time.Your first photo is like a remarkable work of art. I'm glad the rain you got revived some of your thirsty plants. I hope it's good news from your doctor.

It's amazing what a little rain can. do. It is so much more effective than watering.
