Almost Wordless Wed OOPS

Sunday July 9th at 3 pm, the bowl above flew up in the air out of my hand and dove to the tile kitchen floor and went off like a bomb.  Slivers everywhere.
What we got from this is, Corelle Glassware Does and Will Break!
The bowl lived with us since 1993. Left behind are 3 identical siblings bowls.

I also dropped my cell phone, but it is ok, I have a big comfy case on it and it fell on the carpet. OLD AGE IS UPON ME!
I might need to purchase Melamine Unbreakable dishes. Myra, will you throw one of your new sunflower Melamine bowls on a tile floor for a test before I buy?

The other day, I had three accidents before I even got dressed. Every day I have multiple accidents of all kinds. I do not have any glasses made of glass. And I love Corelle, it is hard to break. So you win this contest.

I get a case of the dropsies at least once a day. Thankfully nothing major thus far, but it can often involve liquids. Sigh... YAM xx

You’re reminding me of the day when back when, when a friend said ‘we just got some unbreakable crockery. Watch this’….and watch we did as she threw an Arcopal plate on the floor where it smashed into tiny little pieces!

To me there is nothing more heart stopping than dropping your phone or iPad

Oh no. Just like my favorite mug. I have some melamine plates but I don't know if I want to test to see if they'll break

Hello,

We still have some Corelle, a few pieces have broken over the years.
I have the dropsies too, the other day I dropped my camera on our driveway. I thought for sure it was a goner, but it is ok. Take care, have a great day!

A while ago, I dropped a jar of picked beets. Now if you want to see a mess……

Ooooh no! This reminds me of the time when I dropped a brand-new (glass) bottle of coffee liquor ... talk about an explosion. At least it looks like your pieces were large enough you didn't have to worry about stepping on a microscopic sliver. Tom's broken two ceramic coffee mugs in the last year. Maybe someone someday will invent senior-friendly plates, etc.

Normally I'd be up for the challenge, but I'm afraid if they didn't break they'd at least probably crack.

MS that has happened to me with Corelle ware too. But I thought it was due from the heat of the dishwasher. I know you don't have a dishwasher so it is just wear and tear I guess

I have Corelle everyday plates too. Had them since "The Dark Ages".
I have had 2 bowls chip and one plate break in all that time. It does happen but not very often.
We have a travertine tile kitchen floor and it does manage to break a few things which I will blame on my old age...
Hang in there, you have a long way to go before you can call yourself "OLD"

I love Corelle but I guess it is break resistant! Sorry you had such a mess. Take care!!

F says melamine plates do break. Does that help? Try tin plates! (Well the enamelled kind, like old cowboy tea mugs.)

Oh and ps you can't put tin plates or melamine in the microwave

Sometimes I think it would be nice to carpet my whole house, so I wouldn't break any more dishes!

Oh my goodness - I have Corelle too. I guess it is breakable - but hard to bread. lol
I have arthritis in my hands so bad - I am always dropping things.

Yikes, we hate it when something like that happens, plus is sure scares the kitties!

That's always said when things break, but at least your iPhone still works!

sorry to hear you had such a mess. I often drop stuff, I think that anxiety is causing it.

I didn't know that it could break. What a mess to clean up. I definitely have to have a case on my phone. I don't know how people hold their phones, they are so slippery.

I had a similar accident about a week ago, and you have my sympathies. My bowl was bought in the first year of our marriage.
