Downtown - Homes Converted

The last time I visited downtown area, all of these were homes. they have been remodeled and are now used as commercial buildings.
For other homes in downtown, the label Point Pleasant shows many of the homes. I love to wander the area and think about who lived in these homes and remember the history.

Real Estate Offices

These old homes are perfect for the offices, because they are walking distance to the courthouse and the county and city offices where the records are kept.

I'm glad they kept the buildings instead of tearing them down and building something new and not as attractive. It would be fun to walk around there.

I love that first one. It's nice that they remodeled them instead of tearing them down. I've seen a few houses around that are now commercial property but not many.

I agree with others that it is good to have maintained the old, albeit for new purpose. They are lovely. YAM xx

Hello,
I am glad the old homes were saved, have a new purpose. They are all beautiful. Take care, have a happy weekend.

I love love love that first one. Do they get too expensive (property taxes) to be normal homes or are they converted because the cost of modernizing them as homes is too high?

Oh, I LOVE that yellow one (Novus)!
There's an historical area in nearby Prattville where they're doing the same thing, commercial alongside residental.
I was so excited when one residence went up for sale and I could see the realtor's interior pictures. Unfortunately, it wasn't one bit like I envisioned.

MS so very thankful there are those willing to renovate the beautiful homes for modern day use. We have some of that going on in a part of downtown area.

I'm so glad that they have been repurposed instead of being torn down and rebuilt with some ugly structure.
These homes have such character, especially the front porches. Would love to sit there and watch the world go by.
