This is the stump that was removed so the bobcat could get in the back yard. The flowers were all destroyed by Hurricanes Helene and Milton and completed by the bobcat that took our back yard tree and this stump. I did manage to save the 3 palms because I had moved them to the front yard against the wall. . 2 weeks before Helene, I took photos of our volunteer rose moss. There were 11 of them, pink, yellow and white. They just suddenly appeared, growing in the ground behind the stump and around it.
All of them were from prior years of moss rose on the stump. I had plans to pot them, but all but one were smashed to nothing by the bobcat.
I did find one still living but have no heart for transplanting it.
Bob had a really bad fall yesterday, i think from dehydration and over doing, and now has many cuts and a missing 4 inch by 3-inch sheet of skin. It looked like a bloody Halloween scene, since he is on blood thinner. That was Wed morning and today as I type this on Friday we are up and he is slightly bloody.

Glad to hear you are both up and walking around! That in itself is a small miracle. NO, a BIG miracle!
Best wishes for those surgeries to come...that they might take care of them once and for all.
And ouch for Bob, falls are the pits, for sure.Hope his injury stops bleeding and heals well with no infection, etc. Bew careful, don't want to hear about broken bones!
That's so sad about the pretty volunteer moss roses. Idf the root system is still in the ground, maybe they will come back once again. Those bobcats have no regasrd for the turf they go across...I know too well...
That's so sad about your plants. Fingers crossed some will come back. I'm sorry about your cancers, and about Bob's fall. I too am glad he didn't break any bones!
That fall sounds especially nasty and I hope that Bob does not suffer long term issues with it. Healing is more difficult with advancing years. I know it’s probably of little comfort but the garden will take care of itself over time. It won’t look like it did before the bobcat marauders took care of things, but it will rebound. Hope Bob will be okay, that sounds nasty! I'm glad you managed to save the little palm trees, I hope they will grow, and that some day you will see moss roses back in your garden again too.
bleeding easily is one of the downfalls of blood thinner meds. I hope Bob is not too sore and that his skin heals quickly. The good thing about the rose moss is, it will survive almost anything. I have huge piles of it in my backyard, where just a small piece fell off and started growing its own roots. That was a big tree from the looks of the stump...I know this was a big loss in your backyard. Hoping your November brings lots of goodness your way...
I always enjoyed how the stump served as the perfect table for outofdoors. I'm sorry you lost it but very happy the moss rose lives on.
