Comments on Comments Yada Yada

Above is Donna's comment on yesterdays post, she was not the only one to suggest hornet spray. Since blog fodder is not easy when housebound, I decided to use her comment and several others who suggested spray and one other comment from AI.

I can't spray them, I would end up in ER, been there done that with flea spray. I am allergic to pyrethrins and they are in all the sprays. I left him in the back yard and even in the front yard, my scalp tingled and my arms too.  I went in the yard to see if it was gone and I  tingled and I touched nothing. If Iam in a room where the pest guy sprays,I have to leave, once they sprayed the indoor pool deck while I was swimming and I had to get out and leave the pool area.

I did not buy a frappuchino, which I love, because I can't drink them anymore because of IBS, but I did find out in the 4 months of shopping on line and delivery, they changed the screens on the self check out. The last time I was there, the woman asked if I wanted a job, that I did it like a professional. This time she had to help me 3 times because they added and subtracted and changed what I used to do. a new screen I could not get out of, and one I could not find, the one you look up fruits/veggies

I explained I had been having it delivered for 4 months and she said why did you come back? I said I needed gas, hubby in hospital bed, cant be left alone, yada yada yada and I thought I could race quickly in and out and home, but here I stand relearning the check out and enjoying talking to you.  I am sure she now knows more than she ever wanted to know. ha ha hagas was $2.73 and 4 months ago was $3.49, shocked, I say shocked at that and YAY

Below is a comment that appeared on an OLD Post this past week. It is written by AI and no way to find who did it. Scary thing to me. AI is not as smart as they think since the comment was under a post that had nothing to do with what is written, and it grabbed info to comment on from 4 different posts.

have you had AI comments?

I have not had an AI comment, it is strange. I stopped drinking coffee for 4 years because of stomach pain, then two years ago tried low acid coffee and ever since then I now have a cup of low acid coffee every day. What a joy. I buy Lucy Jo's brand. Would low acid coffee work for IBS?

No, I haven't had an AI comment yet. It did a good job, but I like comments by real people a lot more. Take care!

wow that is crazy... like a ghost on our shoulders... I fear this ai a little... for the wasps, there is a spray called raid freeze, it is without any poison it just transforms wasps and other stuff into olaf the snow man... you have to buy two bottles, the first one is mostly wasted till you find the trick how to aim the target properly ;)))

This AI comment is so totally WEIRD! So do you think you have learned the new screens at W.M.?

that comment about aiming cracked me up....

I'm behind in my reading - wasps? Mr B is killing wasps everyday in our outdoor toilet shed (has to remove a new nest about every second day) - you have his sympathy.

I knew a farmer who could squish a wasp without getting stung. That’s how tough and calloused his thumb had become after a lifetime of farming! AI has so far not commented on my blog and I hope it continues that way. After all, how could they ever rival your creativity and humour, Sandra? I am happy with the real thing!

Can't recall having seen an AI blog comment before. I have set my blog to moderation for new comments on posts older than a week though as I do sometimes get spam comments on old posts.

I have my comments set to go to moderation on all posts older than fourteen days (I might shorten that to seven, if AI is going to start invading). That way you can catch them before they post and put a scam ban on them. Or authorise them if it's one of your recognised/traceable persons. YAM xx

Now AI is commenting on blogs? That's crazy. I have frequently been inspired by comments or blog posts and I have a couple coming up that were inspired by what I read or saw on other blogs.

Hello,
I moderate all my comments and have never seen the AI comment. My hubby used to spray the wasps at night, I think he said they were not as active. I am scared of them and would not get near any bee. Have a great day and a happy week ahead.

I'm pretty sure I've had AI-generated comments occasionally. Purple prose is a give-away.

We have also had AI comments, and I try to delete them as soon as they appear. I do need to set moderation, like Yamini, to "No comments older than 14 days"

Hate, hate, HATE wasps...and bug spray!

Wow - I haven't seen AI comments. That's crazy!

It's too bad that you are allergic to the bug sprays. I've never seen an AI comment before and hope I never do.

An AI comment is scary. I've not had one yet. Well not that I know of.

Have a fabulous day and week, Sandra. Big hug to you, prayers all around and lots of scritches to handsome Beau. ♥

Good way to address comments.
I think AI was what came up a few weeks ago when I called Samsung TV for assistance. It had a name but the wording on chat page just sounded like 'robot speak'. Got problem corrected though
Hugs to you and double B
I missed Sunday but am caught up now

I have had a few strange messages but I delete them before publishing. Glad you got out even if you had to hurry getting back. I would be in a pickle if I had to use the self-checkout.

Didn't even know there was a Hornet Spray.

AI is scary to me but the "Genie" is out of the bottle and never going away. Its going to be very difficult to tell Truth from Lies after a while.
I think I have had several comments like that too. I just try to ignore them.
Glad you got the wasp issue done without your getting sick too.
Hope you are enjoying the cooler weather for a change.
Keep on doing your fantastic work of your daily routines...self check-out can be a real pain but I like it when I am in a hurry.
Hang in there ...
Sue

I have one follower that writes me - and I swear somehow she puts it in AI and they spit out a reply, and she uses it.
I just know it.
Gee our gas prices are so incredibly low. I am shocked yours are so high.
EVERYTHING ELSE - we are paying more and more and more and more!

AI is commenting now? How lovely! LOL. Weird is what it is. I get some spammers occasionally, and I delete them as soon as I see them. Regarding the wasp spray, I'm sorry you can't use it, but I'm glad you got the critters removed safely. Wasp stings are NO fun at all. Walmart checkout...we used to do our own self checkout but they started closing off the ones with the larger runways to put stuff on during the morning hours, so we went back to using a real person to check us out because the lines aren't that bad in the early morning when we try to go. I like having a real person do that (besides myself!LOL). I'm glad you were able to get out for a little while at least.
We are bracing for this freezing weather tonight. I think I have the kitties taken care of on the porch, if they will use all the things I put there for them to stay warm. But you know the old saying "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink", well, you can create all kinds of warm spaces for a cat to stay, but you can't make him go inside unless he really really wants to! We shall see what happens. Thank you for the ideas you sent. They helped me figure out what to do, but I still had to create things with what I had to work with and pray they will be okay. Take care and have a blessed night tonight and days ahead.

Creepy! The "AI Commenter", that is ... not the spray. I've had a few similar-sounding (overly solicitous) comments by a blogger from India (?). I couldn't see any mutual friends and wondered why someone like that would be interested in someone's blog like mine. I mean, WHO really talks that way? I see him occasionally on others' blogs, but actually blocked him a few weeks ago.
PS - I'll bet you made that WM employee's day, engaging in conversation like that. I'd venture, no-one else does that except those who want to complain about something or another.

Tell Mr. AI to get off of the computer and go wasp hunting!!! Big hugs from all of us.

I get it about the spray, if you can't, you can't. Meanwhile, AI and spam comments will always sneak in, you just sneak them back out as fast as possible.

Hi Sandra:)
I don't know if you remembe but comments on my blog are moderated so it's easy to check out a suspicious comment and delete it as soon as posible. I haven't had an A I comment as yet but will know if i get one. There is nothing like an authentic comment. I did not know about the Hornet spray. How did you go on at the doctors. I went to the hospital and my face is covered in burns and blisters, and my face is even lobsided caused by swelling. Never did it hurt so much or feel so sore and this is the third treatment I have had.
All the best
Hugs
Sonjia

So weird that AI comments on a blog. Very odd.

Most of my spam is from those who want to use my comment area to 'advertise'...OUT they go! I haven't had any AI ones that I am aware of...yet.

Thankfully, my spam filter catches all those kind of comments.
I found out recently that stress can cause signs of dementia, such as forgetfulness and unable to figure things out sometimes. You are definitely under stress (not dementia!).
