Defining Moments!

This is Baby Girl. We saved her from her abusive master in Feb 2002. She was a defining moment and I had no idea this picture of her then would be the defining moment that lead to my love of photography and this blog. AND 2 other dogs. But that is another story.

this picture is one of hundreds of Baby Girl and how she looks currently at 8 years old. She is the first defining moment of many that lead me here.

Years ago I heard a sermon titled Defining Moments. I have never forgotten it. The gist of it was this. If you look at events in your life after the fact, you will find that there was a defining moment when you made a choice, good or bad, that led you to the moment in your life now. Each choice we make is a defining moment that has an effect on what follows.
When we saved Baby, she had no idea we were the defining moment that would change her life and that she would never again sleep without her own pillow.
MY ADDICTION TO PHOTOGRAPHY STARTED WHEN I CHOSE TO BORROW JO'S CAMERA. I fell in love with digital photography while snapping our Baby Pictures and here we are. to be continued in my next Post.

Traffic Signal Phobiaignalphobic

My husband suffers from Traffic Signal Phobia.... this means he will drive 2 miles out of the way to miss any and all of the traffic signals. He has stated over and over while we are sitting at a red light, There Must be something wrong with this light, it can't last this long. These lights should be synchronized then we would not have to wait so long.

These pictures prove their is entertainment available at all lights. I took all of these at one traffic signal, through my windshield. The time went so fast I forgot to move when it turned green, but I had fun. Of course the cars behind me were not having fun!

The Point of This Post....carry your camera at all times, feed your addiction and you will not mind the traffic stops.

If you click on any of the photo's you can see the detail the camera picks up even through a windshield. Amazing, don't you think?

The most amazing thing is that I had the nerve to do a post on traffic signal photography.

Comments on Water............

My mind takes me to strange places at times. Yesterday my husband threw the hose into the pool to add water. I, of course grabbed the Nikon, to feed my addiction. As I looked at the pictures, I thought of the many uses for water. The following is where my mind traveled in thoughtland.

We use water to fill our pool in the back yard.

We drink water, sometimes from a well, most of the time from our faucet or now we drink from a bottle.
All of this made me think of John 4:10 Jesus answered the woman at the well, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

We wash Jake's tennis balls with water.
We take long walks by the water.

We stare in awe at the water and what it can do to the land we walk on.

We stand in awe of the water as the sun begins to sink into the horizon and the beauty from the light beams on the water.

We have fun in the water, recreation in and around and through the water, with friends and with pets.
Then I thought, how many times is the word water used in the Bible. It turns out it is 722 times, click on highlighted words for more info.
WOW! That means water is important. Not only do we have fun in the water and view the water, our bodies are mostly water and we NEED water to live. And if we want to Live Eternally with God, we NEED The Living Water, Jesus Christ.
