Healing Powers of Passion Plant

The Purple Passion flower grows with a passion, it is all over our yard, and very hard to get rid of, we have tried for years to kill it off. Imagine my surprise when I googled it and found it is used all over the world for healing.

The underside of the flower is as pretty at top side, click to see the ants on it.
Leaves and fruit are used for mood disorders (depression, anxiety, stress) insomnia and sleep disorders for headaches, migraines and general pain for stomach problems (colic, nervous stomach, indigestion, etc.) to relieve menstrual cramps and premenstrual syndrome (PMS
stops convulsions, expels worms, reduces spasms and calms nerves
relieves pain, kills germs and the Leaves reduces anxiety and lowers blood pressure

WHO KNEW? I had no idea what we had, Bob chewed a piece of above fruit and spit out with a big YUCK!

What a lovely flower, I'm not sure if I've ever seen one. (I've led a sheltered life!) LOL

I used to try and grow this in my yard and it would always die! The flowers are indeed, gorgeous! Now I'd like to see that butterfly on the passion plant flower - wouldn't that be a picture? Too bad some of these vines take over the entire yard ;-)
