Good News, Bad News! HO! HO! HO!

this Post Popped in my brain at 6:30 AM today, as Bob and I stepped out of
our SUV in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Monday thru Friday, we leave home at exactly 5:17 AM and drive to the YMCA gym. I carry driver’s license and member card in my shirt pocket.
The Y is only a few blocks from Wal-Mart. As I backed out, Bob said let’s stop in Wal-Mart and pick up the dirt for the Pool and light bulbs. We step out of the car.
I say: “ oh no, I don’t have the debit card.”
We get back in the car. I pull out my two cards and behold, I have the debit card, and no driver’s license. We get out of the car and head for the door.
I say “sometimes bad news is good news. The bad news is I don’t have my drivers license, the good news is I have the debit card”.
Bad news Bob says “All you have to do is drive home without getting stopped by the police.”
I say the good news is, if we get stopped I will get out so he can see me in my workout clothes.
Bob laughs long and loud and says “that will work.” I think, EEK, I knew I looked bad, but now he is agreeing.
I say: “ the bad news is, the police will feel sorry for you and tear up the speeding ticket, but then I might get a ticket for UGLY.”

Good news is we find the fluorescent bulbs (the kitchen lights died the night before), and guess what?
Bad news is NO DIRT. (for those of you with no pool, we have to BUY sand to put in the filter, the yard full of sand we have for free will clog up the pump and I will never understand why bought sand works and free sand does not.)
Good news is, I have the debit card
Bad news: at the check out the lady in front of me could not get her debit card to work, when the cashier took the card to run it through herself, she asked for her Drivers license. EEK again
Good news: she did not ask for MINE
.
Good news: the new bulbs are called Daylight!
Bad news: Installed Daylight bulbs are now showing every single mark on the counter tops and the white cabinets are now brilliantly spotlighted by the Daylight bulbs. Paw Prints jump up from the floor that were unseen with the old bulbs.

Bad News is: While mopping and scrubbing, I glance at the sliding glass door. Nose prints gleaming in the new Daylight we had bought and brought inside our house. More bad news, there is a very long Snail Trail on the outside of the door. Top to bottom!
Good news is: I know how to clean glass…. Ho ho ho Santa is on the go!

Be JOLLY by golly! and have a Happy Holly Jolly Holiday Season!

I agree with your son who said you have a "black belt in conversation"
Now I would have taken the daylight bulbs back to the store and got some "No show dust & dirt"
bulbes. He he he he he he

You crack me up!! If I had a morning like yours, I probably wouldn't have thought of the good/bad angle!! I love it! You are clever and wacky. By the way, are the brighter lights worth the extra cleaning?

Hi Sandra, We're in Brevard, NC--and I'm trying to take time to read some of my favorite blog posts. Yours is totally hilarious...You and your hubby should do one of those Sonic commercials. Have you seen them?????

I don't EVER want to buy those Daylight bulbs.... Yipes!!!!!

Still can't believe that you all get up that early to exercise. I could never do that... LAZY me!

We did some hiking today in 27 degree weather with a WIND chill... Brrrrr.... Saw some new waterfalls though so it was worth it.

Hugs,
Betsy

Hang on a minute, I have to pick myself up off the floor. Fell out of my chair laughing, that sounds like quite a day. I love the photos.

I grew up on the other side of the state in Haralson County but in the late seventies/early eighties I discovered Savannah and spent quite a bit of time exploring the area. It is a beautiful city.
