Whats Up With The BEEPS!

I wanted to share this photo that proves what happens when taking photos in the dark. today is On the lighter side and only one photo.

Have you noticed that our lives here in the dear old USA have become directed/urged/reminded by Beeps?

Automobiles: Are we so busy we can’t remember to turn off our head lights? Put on our seat belts? Close the door properly?

When I open the door to get out of my Vue and I hear BEEP BEEP BEEP I have to check to see if the lights are on or did I leave the keys in the ignition.

BeepBeep Beep“Beep Hook up your seat belt Beep Beep Beep take your keys out of the ignition Beep Beep Beep your lights are still on

In our GMC Pickup truck, it even says on the dash board in addition to the beep beep beep Door Is Open, it also says Seat Belt Not Fastened (Iook at hubby and say “its telling me your seat belt is not fastened)

Coffee Pot:

It emits one BEEP when I set it on Auto. BEEP BEEP BEEP to let me know it has turned itself on automatically, 12 minutes later I hear a Beep Beep Beep stating it is ready to drink ( I kid you not). 120 minutes later BEEP BEEP BEEP I am about to shut down (this means cold coffee if I don’t act NOW)

There is a button that is labeled TSB (who knows what that stands for) and when I push it One Beep says now you can read the minutes of how long since the coffee was ready to drink.

. One BEEP you turned me off One BEEP also means you turned me on.

Toaster Oven
BEEP toaster is ON
BEEP BEEP BEEP toast is ready
Forget to hit cancel when you remove the toast…eeee eeeeeeee eeeeeee which continues until I push cancel (did I mention the eeee eeee has a weird combo of letters blinking while it eees)
Guess when it does not beep! If I push Toast/2 and don’t push START it does not BEEP, it just waits patiently until I look at it to see why it has not beeped to say Toast is ready.

Microwave
Each button pushed emits a BEEP as I touch it to program
When allotted time is up it says BEEEEEP BEEEEEP
It will continue to BEEEEEP at intervals for five minutes (this is to remind me I put a cup of cold coffee in to heat it up)

My Husbands Watch

My husband has a watch that he says he has NEVER set the alarm on it. At 8 am and 8 pm and one other time I can’t remember which, it says beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep it is a tiny almost unhearable (is that a word) sound that my husband can not hear. He has tried to turn it off each time I whine, no dice, it still does it. has for years

We have become a nation directed and reminded by beeps, watch this short video

This video PROVES WE ARE IN TROUBLE…… The Beeps were warning him his Landing Gear was not down...I mean Really! Need I say MORE?
Do you have any beeps in your life? Do you depend on them?

So funny and so true - we can't be trusted to do anything for ourselves. Mankind will evolve to the point he can only respond to beeps and online instructions.

The other thing I hate is when you are asked "Are you sure you want to delete this file?" YES - that's why I clicked on delete!!!!!

You've put a big smile on my face - have a great weekend :o) xx

Sometimes the beeps are signals from our bodies regarding our health. I have begun to listen to them. Please make sure that you do too!

What a cute post. I agree that there are entirely too many beeps in our lives. Our bread maker beeps about five times about ten minutes after starting -- I have never been able to figure out why. Perhaps it's just for the joy of beeping.

I know you'll get a lot of responses to THIS post! First, the butterfly. Actually, that's a good photo, because it looks like you were featuring his spots! What's up with that video? Why didn't the pilots seem to pay ATTENTION to the beeps??? Goodness! Yes, we have beeps everywhere! Let's not forget all the many, many beeps that go off all through the house if the power has been out, then comes back on! It'a a beep orchestra!! It can also be fun tracking them all down, then remembering how to re-set them. Especially ones I rarely fool with, like the stove clock. Also, how about the annoying beeps of the smole alarms when they need batteries? They make the awfulest sound of all! I think TSB is Time Since Brewing. But I need these beeps. What I can't do without is my timers! When I do laundry, I have to set one, or I'll forget clothes are in the wash and leave them there for days. When anything's in the oven, I have to set a timer, or I'll burn it. Same with on the stovetop. Phil HATES the aeatbelt reminder beep! It doesn't bother me. If he is just going a couple blocks to the mailbox and doesn't want to belt up, he will actually pretend to hook the seatbelt behind him so it won't beep. But here's the best; when something starts to beep and beep, and I look all over the house and can't find it. Also, we have many toys everywhere that will all of a sudden start to sing, laugh, or bark for no reason!!

I don't have a car, which eliminates a few beeps! I use kitchen timers when I'm cooking etc. My microwave doesn't beep, it just gives off a mechanic 'ting'. The toaster doesn't beep either, it just says 'clonk' when it's done. The only household appliance that beeps is the breadmaker. It gives five beeps when it's done. If I don't do anything, it then shuts up and keeps the bread warm for another hour. Then it gives one long beeeeeep and turns itself off. I have no problems with that! When I do laundry I use the timer on my cellphone (since I use the common laundry room it's important not to miss the time).

What a great post. I never noticed all the beeps, but now that you mention it, I must hear dozens of beeps a day. We set our digital timer for just about everything we do, so that sound is typical of this house (if I didn't set it, I would forget to stir the soup, put the wash in the dryer, turn the sprinkler off, unplug something or other that's been charging all day, and all manner of other thing, while I blithely tap away at email). The worst case is when something beeps and you don't know WHY it's beeping. Is it important? Like, say, LANDING GEAR????

Great post!

You are soooo funny! My exboyfriend used to have one of those beeping watches. I HATED it too... drove me insane. Thankfully he got one that didn't beep after awhile. Whoo hoo!

Great post, Sandra... I love it!!!!! My biggest beep sound these days is when someone sends me a text message on our cellphone. It beeps four times. Then, if you don't get it, it will remind you over and over...

The funniest thing is to be in a restaurant and someone's cellphone beeps --and I think it's mine... It's NOT....

We do live in a beeping world, don't we????? I will scream back at my car when she beeps for me to put on my seatbelt ---before I'm ready to do it!!!!! ha ha

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

We are surrounded by beeps for every little thing, most of them I could do without. I am glad I got a coffee maker that doesn't beep.

While I was reading your post a song popped into my head. Here it is on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4W7oZBhAJg

Beep! Beep!
