Jinx!

Meet Jinx!
In April of 2009, my husband  put this plane together and I took photos and he put it up on the shelf because he did not have he right electronics to go inside of it. one thing led to another and the first time he flew it was 2 weeks ago. Note: my husband rarely crashes a plane

  1. First flight: up and and away, nose dived into ground, crushing the nose cone (since it had been a year, since he builit it, he forgot he never put 4 of the screws in that little thing you seen under the wing that talks to the radio)

  2. Second flight: radio quit, another crash landing, this time the body is destroyed (comments will trash it)

  3. Third Flight: crash landing due to high winds (swears he will jump on it and destroy and trash it) Next thing I know, he says I am going over to the park to fly Jinx (by this time it has a name, he has rebuilt everything on it and it is as ugly as ugly can be.

  4. Fourth Flight: He has a wonderful flight, lots of loops and dancing in the air, as he brings it in the radio quits completely. this leaves the plane with NO Pilot. You think you know what happened. Wrong!
You would never guess what he did. Jink lands in the tip top of an Oak tree that is about 100 years old, so you know how high and big it is. Bob gets in pickup truck, drives 2 blocks to the FIRE STATION and has the nerve to ask the fireman at the door if they will come get his plane down. (jinx is no good and we know this, but the electronics on it are valuable).

The Fire Truck and 3 men drive 2 blocks and try to reach it with the bucket, NO DEAL, Jinx will not cooperate, way to high for the bucket. Do they give up? NOT! they go back to the fire house and get a pickup truck that has a ladder for high rise apartments and put it up in the tree and rescue Jinx!

When he came home and told me this story, I said you are kidding me, You Asked??? They Came??? you and they used our tax payers money to rescue a plane? he said it's their job, they rescue cats!, I said

Cats are alive!!!! Jinx is not.....

Are you asking WHY there are stain glass windows in this post??? they are a preview of where i am going tomorrow, we are visiting our local Castle and having lunch in the boat in the moat, these windows are only 2 of many. Stay Tuned

I love this story. I wouldn't be surprised if Jinx's rescue made the local news.
Will you get a cruise in the moat while you have lunch tomorrow? I can hardly wait to learn more.

Oh, this is TOO MUCH!!!!!! I can't contain myself! Wait till I tell Phil, no better yet, I'll have him read it! Is the Jinx picture before he rebuilt it? Because it looks pretty in the picture. What a great name! I bet you are sorry you weren't there to take pictures of the whole rescue for the blog!! Complete with firemen and big ladder. But then again, maybe you are glad you weren't there, especially if your embarrasment factor is high!! On the plus side, what a great blog post Bob gave you!! I' will be thinking about you tomorrow, and just know you'll have a blast!!

That's creative thinking right there!! I wouldn't have thought to ask at the fire station - nor would I have done it! I would have prayed for WIND to blow it down! ha ha... hope you have fun in the moat!

Whew, I am relieved that you are visiting the stained glass and they are not a part of Jinx's flight woes. Your hubby is one determined guy.

Holy Cow..... Your city must have a mighty nice fire department... Hope your hubby gave them a really nice 'tip' or donation..... I cannot believe that they did that ... I wish you would have gotten pictures of the rescue. Wonder how many people came by and asked what was going on. Talk about embarrassing.... How Funny!!!! JINX is the correct word for that airplane. Hope he parks it in the 'hanger' now!!!! ha

Can't wait til you show more pictures from your trip tomorrow. Have FUN...

Hugs,
Betsy
