I Shall Not Be Moved

Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

If you like trees, check out the Gumbo Limbo Tree post

If you like the Gaithers, and want to sing along, here are the words to I shall not be moved, an old gospel hymn we used to sing in church. I heard it on Memphis Beat last week. Do any of you watch that show?

Jesus is my Savior, I shall not be moved;
In His love and favor, I shall not be moved,
Just like a tree that's planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.

In my Christ abiding, I shall not be moved;
In His love I'm hiding, I shall not be moved,
Just like a tree that's planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.
If I trust Him ever, I shall not be moved;
He will fail me never, I shall not be moved,
Just like a tree that's planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.

On His word I'm feeding, I shall not be moved;
He's the One that's leading, I shall not be moved,
Just like a tree that's planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.
Chorus
I shall not be, I shall not be moved;
I shall not be, I shall not be moved;
Just like a tree that's planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.

Hello Sandra. What an appropriate and inspiring post for this Sunday morning. It just so happens that your Bible scripture is one of my favorites. It is part of a chapter I have known by memory nearly all of my life (from the King James Version).

And the old church hymn, I Shall Not Be Moved: As far back as I can remember it was one of our songs, in the old days. I can hear it now. Like a tree that is planted by the waters…the tree has a root that reaches so deep, regardless of the storms that rages, the tree will stand. We can be like that tree by keeping Psalm 1:1-3 in our hearts.

I do enjoy the Gaither videos. They are very uplifting.
Have a good Sunday, Gerry

Beautiful Sunday post, Sandra... I have always enjoyed the Gaithers and their music. The scripture and photos are perfect!!!!

Love that first picture with the reflection... Gorgeous... AND--your bare trees in the other pictures reminded me of some which we took while on our trip along the Blue Ridge Pkwy. I'll feature some of them on future posts.

Have a wonderful day... Thanks for the inspiration today.
Hugs,
Betsy

I remember the gumbo tree post! I love that bridge reflection picture, also the pineapple sidebar update. An interesting header, what's the story on it? I've never heard this song, thats two good new songs I've heard this weekend. I used to watch the Gaither hour.

I had to go back and read that verse twice - really a good one - good reminder....

That tree is fantastic. I remember a version of this song by Johnny Cash.

My little bee on today's post shouldn't be scary, he is in the fly family and has no stinger. They are so tiny and love the nectar on my flowers.
