sword and pistol by his side..umm humm ummhumm umhuumm
are you singing with me now?
I deposited him safely in the bushes and OF COURSE almost scared him to death flashing the camera at him. Flash was required due to shade he was in.
For those of you who don't know the song (hubby never heard it before) I Found this on YouTube, not my photos in the video

How cute! Box him up and send him to me (please include plenty of flies). I've only seen a garden toad once, that was when I was a teenager in our front yard. I will throw in my two cents and say it is a toad. Because frogs are born and live in water, so I don't think a frog could drown??
I've heard part of the song before - in an early episode of Full House.
He does look a little unused to being in the spotlight/flashlight ;)
Cute! Beth says no it isn't....she is afraid of those hoppy things....
I started singing when I saw the title of your post, haha!
Cute pictures.

I like the post. My father used to sing that to me when I was a little fellow.
Also he used to sing "Theres a log in a hole in the bottom of the sea"
Snapper II
I remember the song well ...
I remember the song and it will be in my head all day! I'm glad you rescued the frog/toad and got these wonderful pictures of him.
Cute frog-I'm glad you saved him. And yes I'll be singing the song for the rest of the day : )I think I was in 2nd grade when I first learned it-Mrs. Sult was my teacher.
Hi There, I definitely remember that song...... Cute!!!!!! They say that it's not true that frogs live in the water and toads do not. The biggest difference I think is that frogs have really bulging eyes and a slimy skin. Toads are more warty--with dry skin. Frogs have much longer back, webbed feet.... From your pictures, yours looks like a TOAD to me.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy
I know the song well, my dad used to sing it. Froggy shouldn't have gone a courtin in the pool, lucky you were there to rescue him
I know the song well. The little froggy is so homely that he is cute! Good Post!
I think it was on one of Nyssa's old children's CD's. Our toads are always out by the garage door... waiting for the bugs!
Well I certainly hope he found a mate as he is a cute little fellow. :)
I remember that song well, I used to teach it to the kids when I directed summer camps. Did you know it is from the 1500's? The little toad is so cute, I'm glad you rescued the poor fellow.
I'm catching up, our power kept flickering on and off last night so we turned off the computers. I came back on just long enough to finish my posts and by then it was getting really late.
Hey Snapper II,
My mother was the one that sang both those same songs to me.
Aw - the little cutie.....
I used to sing that to my boys! Very handsome!
These are cute..I can't believe how small those others get (above post). Oh, and a fine lizard too:))
