Mirror Mirror On The Wall

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, who's the fairest of them ALL?

At various times when  wanted a photo of myself for something, I chose the mirror image. Don't even ask what this one was for with that beautiful hat on.
Can you tell the above shot was BEFORE I learned how to use the Canon SLR?

Old Image here,  I can tell by the camera, which is # 2 of 4
The 3 below is all Ginny's fault of Let Your Light Shine. I advised her I had bought new shirts and she wanted to see what I bought.

My motto was try try again! I finally sat the camera on the counter and got a full view photo. you will NOT see it on this blog.

Who knows why I chose to take my reflection in the sliding glass door, probably because MadSnapper had a camera in her hand and Saw The Reflection.
Does the mirror on a moving train count?
Have you guessed who is the fairest of them all?
Do any of you play with your camera in the mirror?
(the answer to your question of why post these on the blog, is because I am suffereing from blog clog and dragging the bottom of the barrel) make that bottom of the mirror

Cool photos, love the hat and the headband. I have done this a few times, you might remember the photo I used for a long time as my blog/comment photo. Full length wearing boots. Maybe I should put a camera in the squirrel's paws?

lovely and great shots Sandra.

my camera setup for the splash,
manual mode
1/250 to 1/350 shutter speed, you can go higher.
remote
tripod

materials i used:
glass of water of course
piece of ice
black background
a powerful pure white light and a yellow light.

this was just an experiment on my part, i placed the white light on the right and the yellow on the left, i dropped the ice and i timed it to release the shutter with my remote, you can also do this without remote but i find it easier with one. its just trial and error on my part and practice.

i positioned the glass a bit far from the background, you can always adjust the contrast when editing to make the background pure black, there were more splash and droplets on my image i just cleaned it in PS.

best of luck

Photos are great and even at what you consider the "bottom of the barrel" it's still very good. If I took that picture it would be nothing but a big flash.

I don't think you are dragging the bottom of the barrel at all. I think this is a great post. I have lots of pictures that I've taken in mirrors or just set the camera up on a tripod and used the timer. That's what one has to resort to when there's no other willing subjects

Oh, you are just cuter than a bunny! The third down and the fourth from the bottom are my favorites! Wish I was as photogenic!! I'm glad to read that one picture was on a train, because I was extremly puzzled as to why you had all those toggle switches on your bedroom wall. I thought you maybe had an electric closet! And I would have had to get in on that!!

this is fun and I have tried it without nearly such good results although my profile photo is an image in the mirror ...

I'll have to admit that I haven't experimented with mirror shots, but I enjoyed these. Very well done!
