My Hunt For Autumn In Flordia #1

On October 19th, after browsing blogs of wonderful autumn colors, I was sitting by the pool watching Bob throw the ball for Jake. In a flash (ha ha) I jumped up and dashed (ha ha again) in for my camera.

I started snapping with my lens aimed at the banana tree.
Hubby says "what are you doing?"
Madsnapper answers "fall color, we have fall color"
that first shot started me on a full week of the hunt for Autumn in our back yard.
the above photo is just one of 3 leaves on our Bird of Paradise that will bloom all winter AND stay green. But it IS fall color.
and last but not least, this small leaf had fallen off the tree and was hanging at head height by a spider web.
Part 2 of Hunting for Autumn coming soon

I left a comment earlier on but forgot about it asking for verification so closed the page without doing it.

These are wonderful pictures Sandra. I miss out on all those lovely autumn shades as well living in a semi-tropical area as I do.

I know you are excited about that fall "color" because my sister (near Orlando) is the same. Years ago, I used to box up colorful leaves and send them to my nieces for little school projects there.

It was so nice to meet with Ginny and Beverly. We just set right in to chatting and talking about our other blogging friends. It wasn't like a first meeting at all.

Best,
Bonnie

I like your autumn photos Sandra very much, especially the last one with a leaf hanging on the spider web.
Your header photo is just fantastic.

You did a good job of finding autumn color down there in Florida. I really like your first two pictures and look forward to Part 2.

Ha Ha, Sandra.... You have to have a great imagination when it comes to seeing Fall Colors --when living in Florida... I think that is what I missed the most when i lived in Florida and Texas. I remember seeing the Autumn colors from the mountains and sitting there crying because I missed those colors so much....

Great Fall colors in FLORIDA..... You did great, Sandra!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

Hi Sandra, Phil here. Ginny got real sick during the night; severe vertigo and nausea, she can't even sit up right now. She talked to the Doctor and he thinks it may be an inner ear infection. If she can't keep any fluids down, we'll have to go to the E.R. this evening. Doctor apt tomorrow at 4:00 Please e-mail Betsy, Monica, Stacy and Ginny will have me do posts and updates on her blog tonight

Just a thought, my friend....I can send a whole box of pretty leaves right from my back yard. You can throw them all over the place. You can even make piles of them and jump in them! Think of the fun! Clean up -- not fun....

well you did good finding fall colors. That last one looks like a leaf I had in my yard. I wonder if that last windy day we had managed to blow it all the way to your house...lol

Ah Sandra, what a funny post, and no offense, but your fall color is pretty pathetic (even though your images are great!) I know, you are just trying to make all of us who are trying to prepare for snow, feel jealous.....and IT"S WORKING!!! I think I'd trade fall, if I didn't have to have snow and cold! P.S. About your comment on my Tech Talk Tuesday today..... if you want to, you really can do HDR on most cameras. If you can change the exposure then all you have to do is put your camera on a tripod or solid surface and take at least 3 different exposures changing it manually after each exposure. That's it! See, no excuses! HaHa

Yay, you found fall colors! The banana leaf is really cooperating and giving you some nice yellows. I love that last leaf shot.

I spent a big part of the afternoon raking leaves. Like Remington I will gladly box up a batch and send your way.

Well congratulations on finding some fall color, but (mean looking sneer here) Let's see you find ice and snow in about a month. Nah Nah Nah LOL!

I enjoyed both of your fall color posts! If I could I'd send you some of my fall color-the peak is over and now most of the leaves are on the ground-but they are still pretty : )

This is delayed..as I've had some peculiar interruptions this afternoon! I agree- its one of my favorite seasons. I was outside with my camera this morning taking advantage as it was behaving (we're on then, I tell it)!? Anyway, I see how behind I am! (Sigh)..well I see the gold colors and love the green too..really like the fallen leaf hanging by the web!
