Where there is a will, there is a way!

It is cold here in Florida, 30's and 40's and this caused our Hisbicus to be scraggly

Above is standard for past 2 weeks, but a couple of days back, right up on top of the scraggly part, I found a tiny mutant hisbicus. It was perfect in every way except for the fact it was 2 inches accross instead of 4.

Since I could not get a decent photo in the bright sun, I brought it in and laid it on the counter. NO! Snapper No!

Stick in in a vase, I says to me. NO!

Lay it by the glass bears, NO!

No again

YIKES what was I thinking

NOPE don't like it. One more time

Ok, don't like it but can work with it, have to remove the wrinkled old hands. I used this one in photoshop and created the header.

You're so good with the photoshopping. I just can't figure it all out. I need a teacher right here with me. Alas! I thought the photo with the bears was my favorite.

Aw! I, too, thought the ones with the bears were really great! I love your final result though; it looks like you had fun with it and the header is beautiful!

I like what you did with Photoshop. You have certainly learned a lot about that program. I wish I could get you up here to teach me.

Hi Sandra, I love your hibiscus bloom --and the header is GREAT. That little bloom reminded me of the little rose which bloomed in the scraggly rose bush in the wonderful movie we saw on TV last night. "The Lost Valentine" may have been the best movie I have seen in years...

Thanks for the beauty.
Hugs,
Betsy

When I saw this, I thought it might be the one you used for your header! I think all the pictures are really pretty, don't know why you weren't satidfied with them. I especislly like the one in the little glass dish, because of the pretty shadow! On the counter, ha!! That is SO me!! If the sun is wrong or I can't get a good picture of something, I always put it on the kitchen counter!! I think it's become my studio!

Loved the photo story of your road to the image you were looking for (and would recognize when you saw it)!

You talk to yourself when you're taking pictures too?...lol
I liked all of them since the flower is just so pretty. Good job with the photoshopping.

Well done, your header photo looks great. Actually I like the one in the candle holder. If you cropped that one or had done a macro it would be stunning. Sorry, I'm way too into macros.

I think these are all pretty..I do that too- why not? Your header as I said is gorgeous!
Its been a long day and the sun is almost gone!
I just finished getting a fish post recipe together and then remembered what you mentioned (you didn't say you didn't like fish though, right)..oh boy? Well, just humor me (ah ha hah). The first (or my recent post isn't), but it made me wish I had photo shop. When hubby re-formatted, he must of deleted my FotoSketcher. That's a pretty eassy and fun program too, I think I mentioned before?
Anyway..till later-

Mom and Dad had several wild ones out behind the fence at the old house. They had smaller blooms.. light lavender I think. I think I may have to replace a couple of small bushes this year... they were borderline for this area and it has been a lot colder and I wasn't good about getting them covered well.
