Backyard Shootout 1

A little after 7 am a few days ago, it was still not quite daylight. Bob and I stood and laughed out loud at the 2 baby squirrels and their mother.
I pointed out one of the babies as he jumped from tree to tree, looking really frantic, all alone, he actually appeared to be high on drugs or drunk. As we stared in awe, the mother popped up in another tree. The baby leaped, hung, fell and caught himself and raced up to the mother nudging here to nurse (squirrels nurse their young for up to 4 months) the mother said NO and left, the baby said Yes and pushed,

the other baby showed up, as we watched this magnificent game, I noticed the top most branches of the pine tree that is 3 stories high were ruby red, NEON Ruby Red.

I shouted to Bob as I ran for the kitchen table on which my trusty Rebel sits "Look God is painting with photoshop"
Above is the way the tree looked without God's photoshop....
As the sun rose higher in the sky, the whole tree started to glow, it glowed and was gone in under 5 minutes.

Two awesome moments in time, baby squirrels about 4 inches long nursing AND a Neon Red Pine Tree.
Just in case you thought I new about how long Squirrels nurse their young, I got the info from Boobooinc.comhttp://www.boobooinc.com/sq/faq.html where you will find lots of info on squirrels.

Congrats on two fantastic moments and on sharing them with us. And loved your metaphor, too. I'm still having blogger comment aggravations, so forgive me but I just have to say an extended "well done" on those posts I just enjoyed catching up on.

Your Palm Sunday photos were so fitting. And before that the tomatoes looking so appetizing, but ARGHHHH to the creepy crawly pests. I usually can't find them to squish, I just keep seeing where they have been! Good luck on your search and destroy mission.

The guy repairing the tiles was a great photo. Just shows you are always armed and ready to aim and shoot. The pieces of the Palmetto church were my favorite church pieces images.

WOW to the header!!!! God's Photoshop just is making me laugh and laugh!!! You are right, these moments in nature are so fleeting!!! And sometimes I wonder if He puts them in certain places at certain times just for special people who need them! The tree is beautiful, the baby squirrels, a stunning tiny moment in time. How many would not have even noticed??? Now on to how great your eyesight must be to see those babies up high in the sun so far away in that big tree.

I can just imagine the laughter as you watched the squirrel babies, they are at the "toddler" stage. It had to have been a riot.

The sun really gave the trees a gorgeous golden glow.

WOW, awesome. What a morning you had. Now I wish I could start my day off that way instead of heading out to go to work

These are lovely..seems there is just a brief period of time when the sun hits the trees like that- I love it and can kick myself when I miss it!! I don't see the squirrels.. you were describing what you saw, right and the sunshine on the tops?! I enjoyed this Sandra-
