About Aging

Only a TRUE MadSnapper would take photos of wilted gardenias. The bush was covered in them and smelled devine. I think they are pretty, remind me of a self portrait. ha ha

You know you're old if your walker has an airbag. Phillis Diller

A well dressed, debonair man in his mid nineties enters an upscale cocktail lounge and finds a seat next to a good looking, younger woman in her mid eighties, at the most. Trying to remember his best pick-up line, he says, "So tell me, do I come here often?"

Hymns for the over 50 crowd
1)---Precious Lord, Take My Hand, and Help Me Up
2)---It Is Well with My Soul, But My Knees Hurt
3)---Nobody Knows the Trouble I Have Seeing
4)---Just a Slower Walk with Thee
5)---Count Your Many Birthdays, Name Them One by One
6)---Go Tell It on the Mountain, But Speak Up
7)--Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah, I've Forgotten Where I Parked

Memorial Day 2011

UPDATE; to answer Ruth's comment below. To me Memorial Day is the day we remember those that died in battle, and that includes ALL the ones, on ALL the sides in ALL the countries, not just Americans. And all the hurting families too.

Wikipedia says this
The words "Lest We Forget" form the refrain of "Recessional" by Rudyard Kipling.
The phrase later passed into common usage after World War I across the British Commonwealth especially, becoming linked with Remembrance Day now known as Memorial Day observations; it came to be a plea not to forget past sacrifices, and was often found as the only wording on war memorials, or used as an epitaph.

Memorial Day is the day set aside to  remember soldiers that died in battles or from injuries received in battles.

Precious Memories

Backyard Fence Painted by God's Sunshine

Grab your box of Kleenex and head over to The Blind Pig and read her story of The Wall.... don't miss it, it is the perfect tribute for Memorial Day....

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Psalms 8:3-5

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it. ~Confucius
My friend gave me this pot when it had tiny little seedlings in it. She says the plant will have large purple flowers. they started to grow and the itty bitty begonia appeared. they are now ready for Bobby Appleseed to transplant. As soon as the purple blooms YOU WILL SEE IT. Trust me HA HA

FMTSO-II plus BLOGGER

I forgot my two webs and would have waited, but also wanted to Say Again
MANY of your blogs I cannot comment on yesterday or today, if I do not comment it is because Blogger will not let me.
HEY I JUST FOUND ON THE ONES I CAN'T COMMENT ON WITH GOOGLE, IF I CHOOSE ANONYMOUS IT WORKS. THE PROBLEM IS GOOGLE
JUST ADD YOUR NAME..

SECOND UPDATE: see comment from leontien... it works on embedded. The thing is to comment on embedded, you have to sign in to google every time you comment, and unclick the check mark for staying signed in, which is way to much work for me. My suggestion is to change from embedded to either pop up or full page if you want comments. I tested it and unclicking the check mark does work, but you will have to do it each time you comment

I do not like spiders, but their the spinning of the web is amazing. Except if I walk through one

On The Way to the dentist Part two

I saw this outside Diane's front door at 6:30 AM

Liz Taylor’s house is for sale for 8.6 million.... I’m just sayin!

At 12:30 it had changed to this. I have not seen a hibiscus this color before.
The real meaning of plant catalog terminology:

"A favorite of birds" means to avoid planting near cars, sidewalks, or clotheslines.

"Grows more beautiful each year" means "Looks like roadkill for the foreseeable future."

"Zone 5 with protection" is a variation on the phrase "Russian roulette."

"May require support" means your daughter's engineering degree will finally pay off.

"Moisture-loving" plants are ideal for landscaping all your bogs and swamps.

"Carefree" refers more to the plant's attitude than to your workload.

"Vigorous" is code for "has a Napoleonic compulsion to take over the world."

Swallowtails

The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough. ~Rabindranath Tagore
Beautiful and graceful, varied and enchanting, small but approachable, butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life. And everyone deserves a little sunshine. ~Jeffrey Glassberg
Swallowtails and Giant Swallowtails are numerous around our yard and this is only one of many.

May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun
And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
Today, tomorrow and beyond.
~Irish Blessing
