At my favorite Rehab Center, Martha has been at the front desk for 17 years. This is what I found this week when I went to visit my PhotoShop guru, Rich.
Each year Martha collects bunnies and the first of April they cover her area. On Easter Sunday, each resident is given a bunny. They all come when she puts them on display and have their names put on the ones they want. First Come First Serve is the motto.
Martha hits garage sales and thrift stores all year long. This year she has 84 to give away and a lot more that are her personal decorations, like the one above.
The one above is my choice, it is a basket and a bunny, below is Rich's choice since he loves all things NASCAR. See the blue tag? that has his name on it. Don't all macho men LOVE NASCAR Bunnies?
MadSnapper Trivia:
When my sons were 3 and 5 years old, my dad took them with
him to the Feed store to buy his seeds. He came home with 2 tiny bunnies, we
named them Peanut and Thumper.
NEXT year he came home with 2 tiny CHICKS. Daddy, what were you thinking? We live in the
city limits. NO CHICKENS ALLOWED…. They grew
really fast, so what to do? What to do?
I called a family friend who had a chicken farm,
told my boys, our chicks were lonely and Katy’s had a wonderful big place for
them to live. We drove over and she played along and made a big story of the
happy life the chicks would have, and put them in her chicken coop. You know
the rest of the story

These photos are so colorful and sweet! I love that the residents get a choice of a favorite bunny. Wishes for a Happy Easter to you!
I don't like to talk about Bunnies too much. I had a rabbit and I called him snowy, little did I know that some day I would eat him.
My dad used to keep them to help out with the food rations after the war.
Of course he didn't do in intentionally it was me being all sentimental again, nothing changes, lol

Look at all the bunnies! They all look so cuddly! That is a funny story about the chickens....Beth's parents had a friend that gave her 3 chicks and the same thing happened to her....
Every such place like that needs a "Martha". What a great story! And, I love the bunnies.

I like the bunny you chose. It looks extra soft and it's neat that it's a basket too. The nascar bunny is cute too! Perfect for a guy. :) Have a great day Sandra!
When I first saw your post, I had to look on the sidebar to make sure I had clicked on the right blog!!! It is something so different from what you usually do, yet just as wonderful. First, I LOVE that stained glass frame on the first picture!!!!! And ALL those adorable bunnies, I am partial to the one with the big front tooth. This woman really has a heart of gold. And I like your story about your dad, too. I'll tell you what he was thinking, he probably WASN'T thinking. We will get our grandkids almost anything want then let the parents deal with it, ha ha!!!
All those bunnies are so cute. what a precious thing to do for those in that home.

Hi Sandra: here I am again...just asking for help: LOL...What is going on ...on some blogs...People seem to be paying a game with the words: for example I saw this: " L - for Labor, as when some one gives to birth"...or " S - or silence"...and so on!!! (sorry my English)-,,,can you explain to me what is going on...Is that a game???
There are many things about other cultures that I do not know!
Hugs...and..be patient with me...

Cute bunch of bunnies. She is very nice to do that for the residents. They all look like brand new. What does she do, have them dry cleaned? You said she gets them from flea markets. Curious people want to know... :-)
