Red, White and Blue - Walmart

Bag of roasted Peanuts for a DOLLAR

As I blasted through Wal-Mart at 6:30 AM on my Saturday Shopping Trip, I noticed a LOT of Red, White and Blue..... YES! by some slim chance I had MY CAMERA in my pocket!

MadSnapper thinks! Snap these! how appropriate for the week  before the 4th of July

Current day, we celebrate Independence day with coolers full of ice and drinks.

In 1777, thirteen gunshots were fired in salute, once at morning and once again as evening fell, on July 4 in Bristol, Rhode Island. Philadelphia celebrated the first anniversary in a manner a modern American would find quite familiar: an official dinner for the Continental Congress,

Current day, we go boating on Independence Day

In 1778, General George Washington marked July 4 with a double ration of rum for his soldiers and an artillery salute

What would you get if you crossed George Washington with cattle feed?
The Fodder of Our Country!
From Marie K., age 12, Dallas, TX

What dance was very popular in 1776?
Indepen-dance!
From Rachel, age 8, Long Beach, CA

What did one flag say to the other flag?   NOTHING, It just WAVED....Eloise, age 9, Charlottesville, VA

You found loads of red, white & blue. Those coolers and peanuts won't be on the shelf very long.

I'll have to take your word (and picture) for W's red, white and blue as I resolved over a decade ago not to step foot in their stores!!

Happy 4th!

Best,
Bonnie

Hey, I even bought red, white, and blue sprinkles for cupcakes, just because they looked so cute and fun and on the chance that the grandkids show up...

It's very fortunate that you just happened to have your camera with you. I know that rarely happens!

I like that 1777, thirteen gunshots salute, of Bristol, Rhode Island. :-)

You are definitely too bright and shiny at 6:30AM on a shopping spree. Good grief, I was so happy the alarm didn't have to go off at that time last Saturday.
Love the red, white and blue photos.
My brain wouldn't have been in gear to think about that and take the pictures.

In a comment in my blog, you said you don't know who Tasha Tudor is. Well I can not let anyone go on, not knowing anything about Dear Tasha.

Hmmmm, I seem to have forgotten how to easily leave a click-able link, in Blogger comments. -pout- Will try to just type the link, and see if it comes out... click-able.

Kudos for snagging the red, white and blue photo opp! And in spite of the negatives people often find about WalMart, I have to credit a precious white-haired lady who yesterday knew just where an item I was looking for was located and even went and got it for me so I wouldn't have to navigate the store's motorized scooter through narrow aisles.

Since my stroke last year, shopping can be overwhelming. Just goes to show, when you least expect it, good things can happen. It is not the first time I have encountered angels at WalMart!
