It is never to late!

Every time I visit my friend Rich, I stare at these two pencil drawings that his mother created. At the age of 72, someone told her she could draw, she signed up for a class in colored pencil art. She took with her a photo of their Siberian husky and this is her first drawing.   Look at the detail in the next close up, yes, their dog had two different colored eyes. Isn't this amazing?
Pencil drawing by Doris Rodgers

Her next drawing was of this beautiful cat.  Her second drawing, I am flabbergasted at her talent.

These drawings are proof that we should never give up, that if we have a dream, it can happen, no matter our age.
Some of you saw the macro shot in a previous post of this Egret. I took the full shot, for you to see the size of the painting. this one is in oil and was painted by Riches cousin.  I am thinking talent runs in Rich's family.

Now if i can only get him to adopt me, maybe I can learn to draw/paint.  I can't draw but I can snap...
I HAVE DECIDED TO START POSTING ON MY OTHER BLOG, BUT ONLY RARELY WHEN I HAVE NEW DOG PICS TO SHARE. CLICK ON FOURPAWSETC TO SEE SLEEPING BEAUTY

Those drawing are awesome!
It's never too late to learn and expressive ourselves. I hate it when people say, "I'm too old to learn this or that." That's nothing more than an excuse.

Yes Ma'am, these people had talent!!! And patience, do their art in a complete way. Lovely.

Doesn't it make you wonder...? If his mom had all this talent bottled up within herself, all those years... Why didn't it kind of bubble-forth, when she was younger???

A very interesting wondering......

This family has so much talent. I do know that drawing and painting are not anywhere near my talent pool. Matter of fact,I don't know if I have much of a talent pool besides taking pictures and playing at the computer.

That's unbelievable! Both of those are great. I love the second one. My mother took up painting after she retired in her 50s. She had always wanted to.

I am astounded -- is that the word? Speechless at this talent. It is indeed never too late. We had a husky with one blue eye and this reminded me of her. I will check out your other blog later, I am soooo behind on reading blogs. Will email too. Thanks for your answer to my KF question. Now, I'm off to walk the dogs before the heat sets in.

Oh my goodness
She had some seriously hidden talents! Kudos to whomever encouraged her to step outside her box and draw!!! I cannot draw a straight line with a ruler!!
I'm not sure I knew you had another blog...heading over.

They do have an artistic family there. Very nice work by both of them. I see you held out for almost a year from the fourpaws blog. I'm sure many are glad to see them back to their own blog.

Oh my goodness she did this at 72 years of age. It does give one hope. Maybe I will get some talent by then!

Those are amazingly beautiful Sandra! Just think if she had taken those classes when she was younger. Her teacher must had been a good one too. I never had a good art teacher when I was in school.

She is very talented. Hard to believe those were her first and second attempts. Beautiful.
